@Dark-Fx, couple interesting things I saw:
  • 20" tire size only listed as 275/60/20 instead of the 275/65/20
  • Heat pump specifically mentions waste heat recovery
  • Adds a dedicated HV battery heater (instead of only using the motors for heat?)
  • Interestingly, AC charging called out as 220-240V. Surprised it doesn't say 208V is allowed and a shame 277V isn't specifically supported.
  • Fascinating...curb weight listed as 6532 lbs R1S and 6507 lbs R1T continuing with 8532 lbs GVWR
  • Claimed range (not real-world / adjusted range...need to compare with current R1 EPA test data to be meaningful):
    • R1 20": 380 miles city / 322 miles highway
    • R1 22": 405 miles city / 340 miles highway
    • Both reported numbers show an R1S test vehicle, so R1T may be slightly higher

I’m surprised by the 21” wheel elimination, in part because the R2 photos suggested it had 21” wheels.

I expect it to be a little bit less than it is currently, but it's hard to say. It looks like they probably still have similar suspension. In the photos in the documents, I don't see a standard sway bar and am fairly sure the hydraulic lines are still present. Some had been speculating they might drop the air suspension for a less costly coil-over setup, but it would add significant complexity to their production so I didn't expect it, personally.
Not a fan or air suspension. Id rather have coil any day. Hope they go with that.

Elimination of the 21" is going to go pretty badly for existing owners... especially since it's the only car with that tire choice.
Agree. That's the one regret I have with my R1T. Wish I would have went with the 20" wheels and then gone to AS after the AT wore out.

Those are the unadjusted ranges recorded on the rolling road. The adjusted ranges were ~240's for the 20's and ~260's for the 22's. The adjusted values are what the EPA reports and seem close to real world numbers. Those ranges are actually in line with what we think a dual motor would achieve with 94.5 KwH of usable juice.

Surprised that CCS1 port is still used instead of NACS. The updated vehicle must be 2025 model year and they dont have NACS worked out for in-vehicle install at this time.
Almost all carmakers have said that native NACS ports will be "in late 2025 for 2026 model year vehicles" if they've specified at all. Most have just said "2025" - which almost certainly means the same thing. Nobody has committed to an early 2025 rollout.

Genesis and Hyundai/Kia say new or refreshed models in Q4 of 2024. Will probably take a while to roll it out to all their models though.

I still can't imagine they'll actually go through with integrated J3400 ports unless Tesla gets off their ass and installs real 800V class chargers and/or other charger manufacturers / operators install native J3400. Alternative would be eGMP refresh cars supporting >100 kW in the boost mode.

That's what I was trying to hint at. Revised my statement to better reflect reality. Would be more helpful if I or someone else looked up the current R1 test data for comparison.

So what are the expectations for rollout of these vehicles? Start of Q3?
Stockholder's meeting is June 18th at 1pm EST. I expect that to be the latest date for Rivian to keep all the refresh information non-public and anticipate sales starting shortly after that.

That would make sense if their intent was to effectively punt on Q1/2 of this year and then try to blow it out in Q3/4 with big production/delivery numbers combined with their intent to hit positive gross margins.
