Great! I know the original plan was to have the tailgate and gear tunnel buttons accessible. Is this just a prototype without that feature? Or are we going to have to open a side panel to open the tailgate?

That warehouse/shop is huge compared to what you guys were working out of back in 2018 when I picked up mine. Pretty sure I hold the record for the first GFC to Deadhorse and Tutoyuktuk and the GFC kept me comfortable the whole time.

Yeah, we tried to see what it'd be like to have them behind the panel...it doesn't work. We'll make them externally accessible.

Fin and spoiler are definitely problems to solve! We have some neat solutions, which we're working with Ben to develop and iterate.

I'll give you a hint with two words though: She Wee.

Right now I'm running a ProSpeed rack. It's pretty dang low profile (3" above the rear roof socket mount). Think it'll fit under the rear of the GFC's overhang?

We're a lot lower than that, so sadly it won't fit. I've seen people cut racks in half so they sit in front of the camper though. Not sure what effect that would have on its ability to remain on said roof, or what curve balls that might throw at the aero.

Just signed up... New R1T owner here, after my Ford Lightning went in for a software update and came back getting half the range, and now going through WA state Lemon Law. ?

I'm really keen on putting a GFC topper on here, but unfortunately missed out on the $1k rebate sale a few pages back. If anyone ends up needing to back out of their spot for a camper, please LMK and I'd happily take your spot. After all the vehicle turmoil the last few months, some sort of savings on this is the only way my wife is going to allow it

This is an interesting point. Having just ran across this thread I missed a few key things previously, such as the non-Rivian V2 Pro being $1k less than the Rivian version to start with, as well as the bits about order vs. delivery dates and what you'd receive.

One thing I'm curious about is how many people on this thread are leasing their Rivians. While I really want to get a GFC on here, without the $1k off, I'm wondering how soon we'll start to see these pop up on marketplaces as leases begin to expire, or perhaps as we see real world impact on range and people decide to pull them off.

Talked to Graeme to get answers for you:

- Any Rivian owners who locked in the $1k sale can opt into V2 Pro for $1k.

- Reachouts from us to take full payment and set your delivery date will occur once we have the finalized production unit. You can talk to us about Pro at that time. We don't want to sell you something you haven't seen and don't have final specs on yet. As above, we're working with Ben Moon to really dial this thing in for convenience, function, and range.

- If you've placed a deposit (as 60+ of you have), you've secured your place in the production queue. Production will begin on time in August.

- Not based on convo with Graeme, but through my own experience playing with Ben's truck last week: Working around the shark fin and spoiler to eliminate wind noise and take any potential impact on range down to a minimum is a pretty big challenge. It's certainly one we're capable of with our engineer-heavy staff and the fact that we make virtually all of the components on each camper ourselves, but man, I do not envy people trying to figure this out without those assets.

The V2 non pro is still available? I thought the non pro just becomes obsolete and it will be all pro going forward for the same price as before.
