My 6yo’s favorite thing is to tap on the (locked) rear screen a few times till Gary comes out to wave. Cool easter egg if you ask me. Kid breaks out laughing every time and always shows that off to friends
Wish I had known about this on Father's Day. I babysat/kidnapped my friend's 8 and 10 year old kids but left the screen on for them.

Little did I know they could have met Gary instead!

I love the concept of Gear Guard, but I hate Gary. The whole cartoonish thing going on with Rivian lately has gotten worse over time. First it was just a terrible depiction of Gary (what is he exactly anyway?) that looks like it was drawn by a 5-year-old with Crayons. And now we're going to soon see Gary emblems on the back of some Rivians. I don't think Gary is cute or fun or playful or whatever Rivian is trying to convey with the whole Gary monster idea. It just takes away from the high tech image of the vehicle/company. That said, I'm also not a fan of the new cartoonish looking UI that Rivian moved towards, even though Rivian is seemingly so proud of their new interface.

I’ll just leave this here…

THIS is the kinda of thing we need in the Gear Store. Come on RJ, make it happen. I need this in my life.

I’m indifferent to Gary. I think the cel-shaded UI is cool. But I do agree that I hate the Gary badging on the new quad. If a gary badge came in my Rivian, it would definitely get the dental floss / blow dryer removal first thing when I got home. Regardless of how you feel about the mascot, I think that kind of thing is tacky - even more so than those badges dealerships apply with their name on it. Luckily it is just a minor thing that you can easily remove if you hate it though

I have Gary in the back middle seat, but I'm a no to any Gary badging.

At least its not all the Call of Duty crap that Jeep did.

The gear guard video changed my perspective on Gary. I considered him a silly mascot before but now think of him as embodying the good karma (politeness, respect for others, and our surroundings) that we too often forget. He is not the driver. He is the ever present guardian riding shotgun who watches over the truck (Except when he doesn’t).

NJ resident that loves Gary here. Absolutely love hours they use Gary to make the experience more friendly - whether with Gear Guard or Pet Mode.

I was really hoping they'd give me a plushie or a sweat shirt at delivery in March... Alas!
