Actually at first I thought Gary was a bit questionable, now, I would wear him on a shirt. He could have his own 4X4 action show!

I don't really care about Gary either way. I wouldn't badge my car with it, and would prefer not to have it on my exterior, but on software, very sparingly? I couldn't care less.

However, I do not like the new Borderlands style graphics. Feels like I've been transported back 10-15 years in the past. But is it some deal breaker? no. It just is aesthetically less pleasing than some realistic animated background of some beautiful scenery around the car with a real-looking image of the vehicle amongst nature.

It felt like the folks at Unreal or someone at Rivian is a Borderlands fan, and pushed for this cell shading style graphic. Trying to look retro instead of modern and clean, I guess?

Oh, man, that sounds awesome! I am far too embedded in the Borderlands universe to see any downside. I haven't seen the new Rivian graphics, but now I look forward to doing so. Maybe Randy Pitchford will throw some R1Ts into Borderlands 4 (or, dare we hope, "Psycho Gary"?)! Anyway, I look forward to graphics that can make me hope that I can launch buzz axes out of my frunk!

Gary is cool. Occasionally he gets nearsighted and doesn’t recognize me until I’m standing next to the door, and even then I have to take my phone out of my pocket before he opens the door. But otherwise he’s very lovable.

I love the concept of Gear Guard, but I hate Gary. The whole cartoonish thing going on with Rivian lately has gotten worse over time. First it was just a terrible depiction of Gary (what is he exactly anyway?) that looks like it was drawn by a 5-year-old with Crayons. And now we're going to soon see Gary emblems on the back of some Rivians. I don't think Gary is cute or fun or playful or whatever Rivian is trying to convey with the whole Gary monster idea. It just takes away from the high tech image of the vehicle/company. That said, I'm also not a fan of the new cartoonish looking UI that Rivian moved towards, even though Rivian is seemingly so proud of their new interface.

You really need to get laid.

I agree, it is embarrassing. I recall seeing something recently claiming that half of Rivian's employees think it is stupid.

But they are probably afraid to say anything because......company culture? Offend the big honcho?
