Just for fun: Found out "what inspired the front end design"

So I was in a data center last week working on decommissioning old servers and stuff and I saw this beauty... instantly reminded me of our cars and thought... huh... so this is where the front end comes from ?

No it was actually inspired by an old espresso maker owned by RJ’s grandfather. This provided the caffeine needed to start an automobile company from scratch, and the R1 front end was a homage to the creative process and to his ancestors. Also, I just made this up.
