Came from an LX470 which drove more like a car than a truck. Had the R1S gen 1 8 months. Felt more like a truck/boat than a car. As of this update it feels like my Lx470 is back. Very happy with this new suspension upgrade. I ride all purpose. Soft, high regen.
Same here. One thing I would add is that our LX470 was quite "floaty" over longer wavelength road irregularities and our R1S has never suffered from this fault.

Just received mind and it's wonderful. This is not a 'nibbling around the edges' update. The new graphics are good. The new font is good. The new HVAC is really good. The turn signal cameras are excellent (for what they are).

I feel like the sleeper here is the suspension tweaks though. I wasn't expecting much, but it felt really good. So good that I was questioning if there was some placebo stuff going on, everywhere. Firm felt firm and not harsh. Moderate felt perfect. Soft felt like it would be great for a road trip.

I didn't notice road imperfections as much. There is a dip and bump in the road that has been unloading the suspensions of both of my R1T's for 2+ years every time I've driven over it. Today was the very first time it felt controlled, which is wild IMHO.

More testing is warranted.

You know what, I noticed the same thing. My efficiency is up about .3 over what it should be over the testing loop I drove. This might be due to a lack of past history after the updated, but I think more observation is warranted here too.
I feel the same

I normally drive on soft and the truck feels much more composed than it did prior. Bumps are slightly more noticeable but dampening is much improved and there is less “bouncing” after hitting a dip etc.
It may also be in my head but the steering feels tighter than it did before.
I have noticed similar. Suspension in soft on T is absorbing a bit more but also seems punctuated instead of a smooth bounce curve. Some harshness on a couple of pothole style cracks/sewer/etc. also feel that I was readying myself for other movements of the truck and expecting it to behave a particular way and that movement wasn’t happening. Bracing myself if you will

The truck graphic on driver display bothers me less than I thought it would while in drive.

feel that it shows the vehicles and road turns further out than it used to

Font and spacing of icons in the center display top bar feel spread a bit much, but that’s likely just being used to the old.

like the new driver display PRND and turn cams.

just a quick 15 miles drive - don’t know that efficiency changed much for me, seems about what it has been. But I haven’t driven this route in a bit and we have some weather. So maybe there were minor changes, but looks similar to recent drives that I have taken

Have street names been restored to the driver’s screen map?

I personally find the turn signal live view image a little fuzzy and smallish.
Where is my multi-angle remote live view using my app?!?
The returned suspension feels the same both on my R1T and R1S.
I love the new cool graphics.
The AC presets are a welcome features.
I don’t see any improvement on my efficiency but then, I drive mine like I just stole it:CWL:
I wish 19.04 would make my AC quieter but it works.
Rivian, please give us remote live view using our phone app ?

Got. I notification last night and immediately installed. I am usually not in first wave. But I bet Rivian wants it out to as many folks as possible before July 4 travel.

Really improved ride.
Biggest surprise is ride is actually markedly improved in my S. Not too soft or floaty but not annoyingly like my old Hummer on a bumpy road. This, to me, is the biggest impact change and I ride on “soft”.

Love the blind spot cameras. Quality is fine. They’re not amazing, but they just need to show me a truck or car and they’re perfect for that. Issue with dirt on them is the same I have with my Tesla.

I like the new layouts and graphics, especially on driver dash.

I’ve actually noticed a pretty substantial difference in the feel of my R1T. I didn’t expect to feel anything but it does feel more composed.

I love the graphics and I think it does fit the playful/adventurous vibe of Rivian. These were never Range Rover stuffy. I think the overall UI feels more modern and easier to use.

The addition of being able to change between heated and cooled seats without going into a menu is awesome. In coastal California that’s very helpful, trust me. Blind spot cameras are great. Quality is not great, but I really liked the feature in my Teslas and I’m glad to have them here.

Very cool.

Is it just me, or someone else did notice a improvement in efficiency? I just did a 8 mile drive but on a flat road i achieved 3.5 mi/kw. Never happened that before.

I know alot of things will be playing a part but just asking.
What speed were you averaging on that drive?

I was most looking forward to any suspension updates. Well, Rivian really surprised me. After a relatively short test drive, I can confirm, they definitely made some very noticeable improvements. What harshness remained from previous suspension updates seems to have been all but eliminated. I will have to do some more experimenting, especially off road, but, so far so good. My R1T feels incredible. All the rest of the stuff is swell, I guess.

Seems to recognize Amazon Vans now, even got the van in front of the van although in the wrong lane.

Maybe it did this before, but seemed like everything was a tractor trailer or every pickup truck the the left front of me registered as a Motocycle.

I don’t have it yet but I’m a bit concerned about the suspension changes. In soft mode right now I think the ride is perfect. I definitely do not want it stiffer than it currently is. This car is a commuter for 99% of the drivers out there.
No need for concern in my opinion, soft is still nice and gets rid of the bouncy feel over rough sections. To me new moderate setting on the middle ride height for the R1S is the best setting, super controlled with no harsh hits and very little bounce, by far the best suspension adjustments they have released.

Not crazy about the new graphics but the new font and modified power meter by the speedometer are great. With the new font much easier to see the clock and outside temperature on the far side of the center screen for my old eyes.

Some people mentioned efficiency gains, hard to say for sure because there are so many variables. I did a 35 mile loop last week in preparation for this update so I would have something to compare the suspension changes to. I averaged 2.22 miles per kWh, did the loop this morning and averaged 2.39 miles per kWh. I reset one of my trip meters awhile ago, was 2.16 miles per kWh over the last 2496 miles. I just reset it to see if I notice much difference.

I was looking forward to the blind spot cameras, honestly in the drive this morning did not really look at them, I’ll leave them on, have a feeling they might be more useful on the freeway which my test loop did not use.

Overall I give them an A for this update, good improvements especially in suspension and fonts.

The blind spot camera feature is nice but will take getting used to but not sure how much I’ll use them. The cameras truly are atrocious at night wow.
