That would be a fun way to pick ‘winners’ but the above email is the we all got back in April, just for the signup and into the queue for an adapter.

First poster just took delivery in May so should be at the end of the line, the second I have no idea what is going on, if they took delivery in May 2022, maybe they did get the notification to confirm an address.
On me for reading too quickly. Time for a cocktail.

Got my opt in today as well….
Got the opt in email for the R1T months ago
I think they are toying with us…
Wasn’t there a rumor that EVERYONE will get their opt in email by April?

No. And that is just cosmically impossible. Some had yet to become owners by then. What comms to customer said was that owners at time of announcement would begin to get their opt-in by April.

I don’t know how the number of adaptors would impact the number of opt in emails?

It doesn't. And the opt-in means nothing on timing and odds of receiving one sooner. It's the subsequent shipping address confirmation email that matters. All the opt-in does is so they know they need to allocate one to you eventually. The adapters are made by Tesla. Both Ford and Rivian get them whenever they do, in batches. Rivian could do better to communicate with customers (like Ford does), but it is what it is.

My comment was that I thought they had a deadline of April for all existing owners to get the opt in email…
I don’t plan on receiving my adapter for a long time… I just thought it was funny that they are still sending out opt in emails for people that should have already gotten the email months ago

Question is, will I receive it before this lease is up and I’m on to the next gen which doesn’t need it ?

#34xx , March 2022 delivery - not delivered yet and no address confirmation - it seems rather luck related than systematic! (I have made multiple contacts by email and even calling Rivian)

We got our R1S in February 2024 and got our first opt-in email in March or April 2024.

We got our R1T in May 2024 and got our second opt-in email yesterday. Most of the above posters also had May or June 2024 deliveries.

My guess is that they sent yesterday's emails to a whole lot of May-June purchasers, plus maybe other owners they didn't think they had heard from.

If I got more opt-in emails than I expected, I would probably respond to each one.

Best to all!

Contacted Rivian Service through the app just to see what they would say about receiving the NACS adapter. I have a very early VIN (<…1700) R1T.
Service person said that the adapters have rolled out slowly (as we know) but that everyone would receive their adapters by end of August. I responded stating that they must be expecting a significant shipment, the person confirmed.
Who knows if this is real but this is what was stated.

LOL. Impossible. They are better off saying “don’t know” than lying and kicking can down the road. They’ve not yet reached mid-year ‘22 deliveries. How in the world are they going to get through the rest (50k+? 70k+?) in less than 2 months? Doubt Tesla is even producing at 10% of that rate.

Yeah I know. Highly doubtful but thought I’d pass along as it’s a bold statement.
