I kept this comment vague as I wanted to see initial responses. Here are my true thoughts on the full update.

1. Overall, it’s fine. I like the old version better, and I do think this one sucks, but I’m sure I’ll grow to like it (maybe). I’m a little more annoyed that Rivian gets to change the interior look of our vehicles without us having any choice or options. It would be great to have options, like the wallpaper on a phone or computer.

2. I agree with Airmoses, the thing that bothers me the most of the drivers display, especially the maps now. Looks less sleek.

3. The new climate display is much better IMO.

4. Great to have turn signal cameras.

5. Excited for the update with apps to watch videos while charging when that comes. Not here yet!

That is all!

The first functional miss I’ve found with the new UI is that if you’re getting into a hot vehicle and want to turn on the driver seat ventilation and increase the fan speed, the seat vent UI controls pops on top of the fan speed UI, so you have to wait for the seat vent UI to disappear before adjusting the fan speed. Small annoyance, but seemed like an obvious (and rare) UI and UX miss.

I don’t mind the cartoon imagery. I just wish the powers that be at Rivian could spend and extra three minutes to put the odometer on the driver screen.

I believe it was Nietzsche who said "Suck is in the eye of the beholder."
It may have been Homer Simpson. I often confuse the great philosophers.
I like the new look and features.

The graphic doesn't matter to me that screen is on rarely. Nav/Music./Phone is what is on my screen 100% of the time.

I get why you don't like it. Honestly I'm not crazy about the graphic representation vs true to life. just about everything else about these trucks is awesome and it doesn't seem to affect features and function so I figure I'll just ignore it.

Pretty sure you can turn on the seat ventilation on in the new UI screen by tapping the seat cushion icon. Tapped it by accident and it turn on my vent today, then tapped a couple times and turned off like the seat pop up. Maybe can do both there now.

Yes. And a proper "this trip" meter like distance traveled and time elasped in the current trip that resets on each drive. Instead we get to see motor temps. Super useful. Rivian is severely lacking in providing easy to see data for nerds.
