Leasing in Texas

I am trying to get a second rivian thru lease. This will be our first lease ever. I'm getting a 2024 Dm large r1t. This is what is showed on their site. It is very vague. Is there any unexpected charge before I put down the deposit?

The $1800 delivery fee will be included in the lease. Also, for the due at signing costs, I had the case where Rivian charged me for a new plate when I transferred an old plate. Saw this before signing and when I quizzed the Guide was told the finance team always does this in case there is a hiccup. In Florida transferring a plate generates a cost savings And is easy and electronic. To me this was not advertised and deceptive, which I expressed. Rivian’s answer was I could ask for a refund, also not advertised up front. I did ask for a refund and got it, but I believe if I had not asked I would not have received it. BTW, the Guide knew almost nothing about all this. She had to constantly ask others. I’m pretty sure she was laid off in the latest round of Rivian cuts With Rivian moving to Service Centers. A much better move IMO. BL, I would advise knowing your state’s laws and fees and double checking Rivian‘s numbers.

Yea. It sucks that they don't disclosed all the numbers before put down the deposit. I spoke to the rep and she confirmed that I have to commit before those numbers will pop up !!!! Hope someone did this in Texas would chime in here.

You will need to add in tax (based on total MSRP value) and the $1800 delivery fee as stated above. I will look around for my paperwork but as far as I can remember that's the only difference.

Title Fees: $33
Reg Fee: $63.25
Sales or use tax (6.25 x MSRP) in my case $5385; in Texas you pay total sales tax value, yes it sucks!
Acquisition Fee: $895
Dealer Doc Dee: $347
Hybrid/Elect Fee: $200
Delivery Fee: $1800
First months payment whatever that is.

All of that on top of whatever down payment you put although I would advise as little down payment as possible on a lease. Hopefully that helps!

Wow. That would make the monthly payment much higher than stated. Did you think it is worth it to lease in Texas ?

The lease payment amount was pretty accurate for me. Just the upfront cost was a huge sticker shock. From a fun to drive perspective I love it but from a financial decision perspective I have regrets because I don’t plan on buying out after the lease is up. That sales tax is a killer.

Thanks. I'm not planning to buy out either. That sale tax is awful. I read that you have to pay again if u want to buy out. I already have an r1s. Just want to see if it is better financially to replace my model 3 with a lease r1t.

Leasing in Texas sucks. You have to pay taxes on the full amount and can't get tax credit if you buy or resell it at the end of the lease!

I believe an employee can refer you for a discount. I tried finding the post but couldn't. Not exactly sure how it works and what it applies to but if you haven't checked it out, it might be worth searching out here. Cheers.
