Do we really need a new thread every time someone gets a shipping email?
Yes. As a matter of fact, when I get my shipping email, I’m going to cut my post into two and do two new posts.

How are these threads impacting your life in a deleterious manner?

As a June 2024 purchaser I'm probably looking at mid 2025 aren't I?

I'd say just keep the A2Z adapter and have a backup. This was my plan. I took delivery in March of this year so It'll be a while until I get the free adapter. Now I'll have 2 eventually which I consider smart. You are out and get the adapter but drop it by accident and it gets damaged somehow, now what? Well who cars you have the A2Z tucked away safe in the car for emergencies.

I find the these posts with VIN number helpful. Helps figure out as I took a Jan 23 R1T build and maybe I would get one this year after all. I will pull trigger on A2Z by September if no word from Rivian.

Riv, your reply was a lot more useful than my snark-o-rama!! ? I took delivery of my R1T last December. So I’m not expecting mine for quite some time. My only hope is that the Rivian early adopters all are indeed getting their shipments first.

Jan 2023 might be closer than you think, they are already shipping to vehicles delivered early Q4 2022. Q1 2023 could see some starting in next round of shipments.

I'm in the same boat. It's very hard to know when to expect the adapter, but I'm planning on seeing mine at the same time as the installation of my powered tonneau cover. Rivian says that will be "sometime in the fall" but do not say what year, so I'm assuming they mean Fall of 2025.

I suspect a neighbor has an adapter; he drives a Launch Edition. But I have yet to beg him to borrow it haha. Also in my plans.

The first two rounds of adapters were shipped about a month apart. These last two sets of emails went out on July 15th and July 22nd/23rd which got us to the VINs for early December. I read this as the process is speeding up and/or Tesla has increased production of the adapters. All of this bodes well for getting adapters sooner than people on this forum were projecting even two weeks ago.

Just got an email today from UPS with an estimated delivery date of Mon 7/29.
R1T - August 2022 delivery, Vin 090xx.
Opt in email was 4/4. Ready to ship email was 7/15.
Checked today and the Rivian website shows adapter "purchased" on 7/19. But also shows as shipment pending.
Shipment shows coming from Riverside, CA. I'm in San Antonio, TX.
