The service centers sometimes get a bad rap, so I have to give credit where it's due. After being at the San Jose service center the last two weeks, I picked up my R1T today. I was managing my own expectations and not expecting much, but the service center fixed every issue I had on the ticket and there were eight of them. A few of them were longstanding issues that I thought I was going to have to learn to live with. For example, I had a driver's side suspension rattle at low speeds that has driven me crazy for a year and a half. It's been looked at before by a service center and I was told was just normal noise. Well, the SJ service center fixed it. It's now completely gone and my truck's suspension is blissfully quiet. The fix for that was replacing the driver's side dampener. Another issue I've had that others have experienced as well is an off-center steering wheel. Rivian realigned the truck several times before, but the steering wheel was always a couple degrees to the left when going straight down roads I've driven in other vehicles and had a centered steering wheel. Again, I figured it was just something I'd have to live with, but Rivian is clearly learning and getting better at service. That issue was finally fixed and my steering wheel is perfectly centered when driving straight. I also had the new power tonneau installed and that is operating very smoothly. Great experience overall and thrilled with the results. Rivian is definitely getting better at this.

How similar does mine sound to yours? You'll hear the chirps, but you'll also hear the knocking

Yeah, that sounds very similar to what mine sounded like. My noise was coming from the driver's side and sounded like it was originating from the strut tower. The service center replaced the driver's side damper and now it's so quiet that I can hardly believe it's the same truck.

I'll mention this post and that San Jose rectified a similar issue if there is any issue identifying it.

Love San Jose service center! I dropped off my car for a the new upgraded cover while I went on vacation and they fixed it in a timely manner and then charged my car up for my return trip. Parked it outside of the gate so I could pick it up after hours.

Here is my truck. The front end is very noisy and it drives me crazy. That is the ONLY thing I don’t like about my truck. I have almost stopped driving it because of that. I’ve had it at the service center 2 times and they tell me it’s normal.

I've never had a problem with the service center, once I can get in. My biggest beef with them is really about the lead time for appointments. So less about the service center, and more on the Rivian balance of service center investment vs deliveries. :)
