We often hear from owners that although the camp speaker is a brilliant design, it isn’t used frequently, so we’ve been considering what we could make to make use of this place for a while. Now here it is!

Our tray not only create a storage space within reach, but also can be detected by the car system due to the PCB installed on the back of the tray. Injection molding ensures better product consistency and durability

Comes with adjustable space dividers to accommodate various items. We’ve also attached the 3D design documents so you can create your own custom storage designs. You can also comment your ideas below; if it gets a lot likes, we’ll have our designers create a design for you to 3D print yourself.

Looks like it's around $42 after the coupon. That's actually a pretty good value for an injection molded piece that also locks in place. Bonus points for the divider file. There are 3d printable options for a drawer, but it's still a decent amount of filament and there's no lockable option to print yourself. Is that lock defeatable (maybe a piece of electrical tape?) without going into the display to always unlock it? I could see the locking feature being more of a hassle if you just want to get in and get out.

The optional rope handle looks like a neat bonus. How do they attach and how far apart? If they're just through holes with the right spacing, perhaps a standard drawer pull could be used for more customization.

I echo the other question about whether the locking can be disabled. I've seen others that are 3d printed which seem to snap in place. So the drawer won't slide out when braking, but also doesn't require navigating to the unlock button on the screen.

If we were to use tape to disable the PCB, would this model slide out when braking?

I think when the vehicle is unlocked the camp speaker (or drawer tray) will be unlocked as well. You can go into the menu to lock it when the vehicle is unlocked but next time you unlock the drawer will unlock as well. At least this is how my R1S works with the locking drawer I have from a different vendor.

Looks great! Wish it had a built in fingerprint sensor for unlocking. Using the UI is not that ideal, and also not too safe if you want to store something like a handgun. I also really wish Rivian would allow an option to not unlock that bay when the doors unlock.

Gotcha yes, I believe this is how the locking mechanism works by default. Which means, if you're on a road trip and keep kids snacks in this drawer, then you're navigating the UI to unlock it while driving. So that's what I was getting at with wanting to disable the lock but also avoid the drawer sliding around while driving.

If the Rivian could lock this when "off" and auto-unlock when being driven, it would be awesome. I don't understand why they made the speaker so damn hard to remove.
