Rivian ring key by CNICK

This is awesome and I want one.

But I’m a little concerned with the Seller’s reviews…

Additionally a large number of the rings simply crack/break after a short period of time. I really wanted this to work but not wasting a card for this. It’s hard enough getting the card to work.

I was hoping to be able to order one in silver alloy, the Starmoon Gen2 as seen on the Tesla ring page. However, it's not offered on the Rivian page. Is the RFID transmitter signal from Rivians not strong enough to penetrate through a metal encased sensor unlike Teslas RFID transmitter?

I just got another key card today with the intention of sending it in for this (you guys getting lucky with service center bracelets! Atlanta SC just said "only with a launch edition")

Debating trying now or waiting a bit...... Was really looking forward to a bracelet for beach trips

The one near piece of cake off of Defour? That's where I took delivery last December and they had 1000's of wristbands in the back, so I bought one at delivery. Surprised they're saying LE only as they probably haven't delivered 1000 R1's since December.

Ah yep it was $139, I was writing this outside while furiously trying to get the truck to unlock with it!

CNICK has been responsive so far in troubleshooting. They had me download an NFC scanner to my phone to ensure that the ring was showing a chip loaded and I just sent over a video of the ring not working, including a comparison to my keycard which does work, so we know it isn't the truck sensor at least. Hopefully an update and fix soon...

CNICK sent me a prepaid label to mail the ring back to them to investigate any issues after I provided them with the video showing it wasn't working. I'll update here once I hear back from them, but it will probably be a few weeks I'd imagine.

I will say that CNICK customer service has been nice and responsive throughout this so far, so I'm hopeful there will be a resolution one way or another.

The official one is gen2 only. Unless you're talking about the unofficial effort in limited beta. And that one requires you to interact with your watch; i.e. extra steps.

No extra steps. Just 1. Put on watch. It’s actually less steps than the card. Or the ring.

Hmm I will keep watching this I do really like the ring. Hopefully the issues get resolved. I leave the PAAK off at home so I always have to pull out the phone to unlock the truck.

I was really excited for this as an option for when I go to the beach primarily. Got a third key card and sent an email off the cnick with a few questions. 2 weeks later I've gotten nothing but crickets in reply. Making me think twice......

Site clearly say to allow 4-5 weeks. Plus, if you track shipping label they sent you, you could see if it was delivered. Plus, CNICK is in country of Georgia. That’s mentioned in this thread. I sent a keycard on 7/16. Received shipping notice yesterday 8/16, due to be delivered 8/21. Hope chip was not damaged in the process and ring works. They are slow on replying. Questions I asked in early July was just now replied to.

I read what the shipping and processing times were. Not concerned with those. I simply sent an email asking a few questions that are not specified on their website. +2 weeks to reply to an email is what has me concerned, not that they are in Georgia or the overall process.

English speaking person responsible for comms could have been away on vacation (should've put on auto-reply if that was the case). Who knows. We shall see.

I asked them why the Rivian ones cost $20 more than Tesla rings. They said, "The process of extracting the chip from the card and precisely embedding it into the ring involves significant effort". I asked them why some of the Tesla options are not available to Rivians, they point to availability and repairability issues.
