Reddit comments seem to suggest vehicle(s) on fire in parking lot… perhaps in an area where vehicles awaiting repair/correction were stored.

I don’t mean to be selfish but I have a delivery date for a R1S of 9/17/24 in Reno What are the odds that one is mine.

Also, I’d really like to know the cause.

Vehicles at EOL area, Normal, IL plant is currently on fire!!!
Looks like one of the vehicles ready to be loaded on the rail caught fire.

While this is bad, it could have been much worse. Glad it was limited to the 40 or so vehicles.

Is your name Lucky? Seriously, though I'd contact your SC. They were great when mine was delivered last year. There was an accident on the same train my car was on but my car was ok. I called and asked. They found out and let me know a few hours later.

What does this mean?

Referring to the possibility that it is 2022 through 2024 model year vehicles sitting in a "boneyard" of defective (new or returned) vehicles that RIvian has deemed unrepairable.

Why would Rivian have these vehicles at the factory and not distributed to service centers? Parking space at the factory is valuable. I think this is wishful thinking on the part of the fanboys.

IF the original comment is correct (it was not me who made the original comment) why would Rivian send defective, unsellable vehicles that need to be disassembled and/or scrapped to Service Centers? Plus, Parking space at most Service Centers is even more valuable. Have you been to Brooklyn?
