My R1S was picked up on 9/6. Everything was great except the intermittent connection issue of USB-C ports in the center console. Software rests have been able to correct it but the problem comes back after a day or so.. I have a service appointment scheduled in late Oct for it.

That's not the only fun and the party of error messages continues into my second week of ownership (trying to be positive)..

Last night the AEB and BSW warning lights started staying on solid yellow, then soon "Driver assistance features unavailable, Service soon" warning message popped out.. it was already late in the evening so I didn't do anything until this morning.. The warning lights and message came back this morning as expected, but then I found the GPS location was off. I was driving on a main road but the system showed that I was in a small alley a block away.

I called the service number and a very friendly woman took detailed notes and instructed me to go through a vehicle restart. All previously mentioned errors were corrected/gone after the restart, but then a new error message popped out -- Rear sensors not working, Driver assistance features limited until serviced.

I wonder if I should perform another vehicle restart?? I am not sure if frequent vehicle restarts would possibly mess up the system...

I hope the party will end soon... but who knows.... finger crossed...

I've had some similar issues in the 2 weeks or so I've had mine - center console USB-C and drive cam not working, rear cross-traffic inoperable, surround sensors inoperable, SOS unavailable, no LTE. All of these things seem to randomly stop and start each time I get in my car. I haven't performed any resets, just rolling with it and schedule a service appointment down the road unless something real bad pops up.

That's annoying! Sorry you have to deal with that so soon.

To answer your question, vehicle restarts will not do any harm, but obviously if you find you have to do them often there is something wrong. But you already know that so I would go ahead and do them as long as they clear the errors and allow you to keep driving.

If you long push on the hazard light button it captures diagnostic logs of your vehicle, which can help the service folks.

Thanks for your early in the new model year beta testing :) Thankfully nothing that keeps you from driving.

This is frustrating for sure. I have been told by Rivian that it's an issue with USB power management and will be fixed in the next OTA update.
At this moment I think it's more than just the USB power management issue, otherwise other driver assistance features wouldn't be affected..

When I woke up the vehicle this morning, the rear sensors malfunction warning didn't show up, but the center console USB-C power supply was down.... it seems like the R1S chose the lesser evil (?) between these two problems...
