Phone and key card. Never needed to use the key card in 5 years of doing the same with my Tesla.

I loved my keyfob when they presented it to me on the day I picked up my R1T. It was unique and loved the yellow color. However I am starting to notice it's too bulky in my jean pocket and it sometimes presses against my thigh when I walk. I also carry keycard in my wallet. Is it totally safe just carrying the keycard without the keyfob? I am nervous that I am in middle of nowhere with my R1T and I can't get the car started because I only have keycard. Do you guys just carry keycard alone? Any bad experience with that approach?
I just use PaaK and never had key fob /card ever. Do I need to think this through or until it happens; just YOLO it

PaaK is the primary and generally the card.
The only exception to this is if we're going anywhere with a valet. The fob creates a smoother hand off experience than the card.

This is what I’ll have to start doing. The key card is difficult for valet because everyone is used to Tesla’s implementation so they often don’t place it in the right spots. The delay is also confusing for people and they will start moving it all around if it doesn’t unlock immediately upon touching the handle.

I never use the fob.
I use phone-as-a-key about 60% and keycard about 40%. Neither have ever let me down although both have made me wait 15 seconds before I can get in occasionally.

Love the key fob, hate that it is not so secure; auto opens. I keep it in a key holder to preserve it. I PaaK, with card in back well for backup. Maybe mark the inside spot with chalk pen for valet?

My wife has the fob in her purse, in the same zippered-shut small pocket as the keyfob for our Mach-E.

I keep the card in my wallet, and if I'm going on a road trip, I'll also bring the wristband, in the off chance I goof up and lock my wallet in the truck and my phone dies or some such similarity.

PaaK primary, and I always have a keycard in my wallet. Best to have two, and this is the most convenient for me.
I also carry the Key card. When my phone died I had to use the card. It was not easy or seemingly reliable. I had to hunt around with it and it's not clear how long you have to hold it in position. That is an issue with these cars in general with all methods of entry. I would call it problematic.

Paak with key card as backup. The only time I carry the fob is when I'm at my vacation house where I have to disable proximity locking. With my bedroom directly above the garage...the Rivian locks and unlocks all the time with PaaK enabled.

PaaK is all I use. I also keep a keycard hidden in a secured place within the truck I highly, highly doubt anyone would look. PaaK has failed me on a few times as far as being able to drive the vehicle even though it unlocks the doors, gear tunnel, etc. I don’t carry a wallet, keys, or anything else. Literally just my phone.
Curious if you hide the key card somewhere on the exterior of the truck? I use a small magsafe apple wallet on the back of my phone that only fits 3 cards (license, debit card, credit card) so I really can't fit the Rivian key card in there. Curious what you're doing

I had a plan to store it in the hitch receiver. I bought a hitch receiver "safe" on amazon a while ago, but didn't fit. I still think somewhere in that area is a good place to hide it.

For those that rely on PAAK only...I assume you got your Rivian after April 2023, when a lot of us were locked out of our R1s for several hours :)

I'm old school. I use PAAK and carry the card in my wallet. Never had to use the card other than at valet.

I’m with most of you…PAAK and keycard always in wallet. I’m on and off with the keyfob because I like it.
BUT…how many of you have actually ever tested your keycard to make sure it actually works?!
