I loved my keyfob when they presented it to me on the day I picked up my R1T. It was unique and loved the yellow color. However I am starting to notice it's too bulky in my jean pocket and it sometimes presses against my thigh when I walk. I also carry keycard in my wallet. Is it totally safe just carrying the keycard without the keyfob? I am nervous that I am in middle of nowhere with my R1T and I can't get the car started because I only have keycard. Do you guys just carry keycard alone? Any bad experience with that approach?

PaaK primary, and I always have a keycard in my wallet. Best to have two, and this is the most convenient for me.

Same. I use PaaK exclusively but keep card in my wallet in case of emergency.

I keep a keycard in my wallet and another hidden in my garage in case I lose my wallet. I do always bring the fob with me, but if I can keep it in my backpack instead of my pocket I will always choose that. In pockets it isn't that comfortable.

Same here, but there have been situations where I've YOLOed with just PaaK.

I fully expect to be bitten in the arse about this at some point.

I am sorry but what is Paak?
Phone-as-a-Key. Nerds like us use the abbreviation similar to IT services like IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) or SaaS (Software-as-a-Service), PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service), etc...

Time to stop wearing those 'skinny jeans'... lol

I use my fob mostly with the proximity locking as default and my wristband maybe 2% of the time for certain activities. I also carry the keycard and have PAAK as a backup.

The keycard will be the reliable backup. The keyfob has batteries that can run out, phone as a key can have multiple failure points.

The only time the card should fail is if you physically damage it enough to break the antenna.

I figure as long as I have two options, I should be safe (I use the FOB, and have a card in my wallet, plus the phone but I don't use the phone as a key). I usually have the three with me, but sometimes only two if I'm not taking my wallet or phone with me somewhere. My plan 'C' is to call my wife and have her remotely unlock it from her phone if I ever need to, but that seems pretty unlikely!

I do that as well on occasion. If I'm staying within about 20 mins of home, all I bring with me is my phone these days. License, registration, insurance, Apple pay, etc. are all on my phone. No need to lug along anything else.

I've been using the fob (being a dork and hanging it on a belt loop) with a keycard as backup in my wallet. Even if you have proximity turned off for the phone (PaaK) you can still go into the app to unlock the R1 and then drive off too. I'm going to give PaaK another try though since I saw a recent mention that opening the frunk via the fob might be causing some people issues at the moment.

I slipped the key card in my phone's case which works perfectly. I have had to use it several times, twice when I wasn't paying attention and my phone battery ran out and many more when my truck let me in but would not start with my PAAK. I had to use the card to drive which worked fine.

I tend to roll like Cohall does, phone only but the card fits in the phone case so not exactly like that.

PAAK primary with the card in the wallet for backup. Don't feel like carry the key fob and its another battery I need to worry about.
