Are you still seeing better efficiency numbers AND lower overall noise? I think I read you didn’t keep the Pirelli ATs for long but man they are so loud at 19K miles, it’s terrible.
how many miles you have on them now?
Hi Bryan, yes, I am still very pleased with the noise and efficiency of 2.52 mkh (~2.45 after 3% size conversion) after 4200 miles with these tires on my R1T.

Hi @J400, are you experiencing any unusual vibrations at any speeds?

What is the benefit of waiting for availability in the gear store?
Ability to get the 20" dark rims with tires mounted and balanced with one click.

No vibrations, only the low hum above 50mph.

My efficiency numbers have improved. I’m at 2.34m/kwh.

I mentioned this before in my initial post, I do have noise coming from the suspension and have a service appointment for repairs. I don’t think it’s related but can’t rule it out.

In speaking with the Goodyear design team, the consensus is that the tire design should perform well for noise performance. I suggest having the Rivian service center review the tire noise you are experiencing and ask if it could be related to the suspension issue.

If you continue to experience issues with your tires as more miles accumulate, I recommend consulting with the tire retailer who installed them for further suggestions on improvement or replacement.

I finally got to see these in person at the Seattle service center, they're definitely replacing my AT3Ws when the time comes! Perhaps sooner if I can bite the 1k bullet.

Saying 15-20 PSI is already more aggressive than Rivian would say with the AT Pirellis where ~30 PSI was the lowest they'd recommend. Granted that wasn't specific to sand and low speeds.

One thing about air pressure is people like to talk about PSI as if it's the same between vehicles. But a heavier vehicle like the Rivian will have a larger footprint at the same PSI. Or it would need a higher PSI to get the same footprint.
That's why it's especially important to avoid very low pressures with a heavy vehicle. Because a heavy vehicle causes more flexing of the tire's carcass, at any given pressure, than a lighter vehicle with the same size tires.

I will do the same soon with my general grabbers. Love the grabbers but, damn, i'm at 6/32 after 10K miles. I'm beginning to think there is something wrong with my R1S (stock 21" replaced at 16K miles too). All purpose driving 95% of the time and very conservative driving style (the wife)

Ordered a set that I'll be installing on my R1T Dual Max to replace the stock 21s. I'll report back in a few weeks with updated efficiency numbers.
I’m also thinking about these for my dual max, so can’t wait to see how they work out for you!

Just curious, your signature mentioned your R1S only but you are showing an R1T.

I have an R1S as well with 22" wheels/tires. I picked up the R1T (dual/max) when they blew them out with crazy lease deals. The extra range is actually quite nice. I drive to and from Mammoth every other weekend (360 miles), and the R1T shaves ~25 mins off the commute vs the R1S (quad/large).

I'll be super interested to see how the range is impacted with these tires vs the 21s.

This past winter, I had a set of dedicated winters (Ram wheels) on the R1S and I didn't notice a huge difference vs the 22s. The truck was an absolute monster in the snow with dedicated snows. Traction was incredible.

Wait till 1k miles for tires to break in before posting efficiency.

I saw these again this week picking my truck up, they're sitting in my DT cart staring back at me with those sad kitten eyes. Damn it @B Digs why did you make the perfect tire? What's am I to do with my old tires?
