Apple Music STILL doesn't resume (2024.35)

tried logging out of apple music, reset infotainment, login to apple music, no change
tried reset infotainment, then log out/ log back in, no change
full truck reset, no change *per rivian*

They're aware it's not working

This is weirdly not unique to either Apple Music or Rivian. In both my R1T and now multiple Volvos (an XC90 and an XC40), the FM radio is often turned off when I start the car, even though it was definitely on when I parked.

I miss power buttons and volume knobs…

That is odd....I have not had a single vehicle in past or current that didn't simply start playing whatever I was listening to when I left the vehicle. Except my R1T and Apple Music.

Granted.....they all have knobs...

It’s very strange, and not consistent. Maybe 50/50 the radio will be on. Never had this issue in my Jeep or RAM, and both the Volvos and Rivian are running Android Automotive, so my assumption is that’s the source of the problem, which could point to some of Rivian’s software issues being outside of their control.

Doesn't work for me either, never had the problem when I was using Spotify only Apple and sometimes if I'm listening to FM radio when I get in the car the radio is turned off

Will not resume still. Gen1 with Meridian. Also notice that the bass has been significantly reduced.

I tried turning off Spatial audio and Voila! Resumes perfectly

As amazing as Dolby Atmos is, it's just a worse user experience. Music doesn't resume, crossfade doesn't work

My crossfade works sometimes but there is a distinct studder everytime....

Interesting. My crossfade has only worked for me going between two non-atmos songs (or if I just have atmos turned off). But it doesn't seem to studder

I will have to look...maybe mine weren't Atmos...I have a wide interest in music so some is older without atmos support.

It's probably the worst feature on my truck. Hate it, buggy and slow. You thought Alexa was bad,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Nope.. doesn’t resume and I also can’t make it past two tracks before I get the no internet connection display. I can’t get data on Apple Music to load until the car wakes from a deep sleep and that’s if I’m lucky.

I experienced something like this yesterday. WTF.....? SMH

Today, I was finally able to sign out of my Apple Music app in my infotainment and log back in. I was able to listen to music for an entire car ride without losing internet connectivity. Apple or Rivian must have done something on the back end to remedy the no internet connectivity problem. Hopefully it continues to work tomorrow.

Also, my highway assist miraculously began to work today. It would always say it’s not available on this route when I was on major highways. Fingers crossed that this continues to work tomorrow too.
