Just wanted to mention I traded in my R1T for a Wrangler 4xe Rubicon yesterday.
The Jeep 4xe has about a 30 mile all battery (17kWh pack) range and a 340mi ICE range. It's got 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque with actual real lockers front and rear. That 30 mil battery range should suite me fine for probably 95% off my driving (I work from home). The dealer gave me $60K on the Rivian trade-in which in NY goes 100% to the pre-tax value of the new vehicle, so I actually will end up about $1,900 ahead once I file my taxes and get the $3,750 Fed tax credit early next year.

Jeep is trying to clear out 2024 models right now, so they have crazy incentives. The Rubicon was $71K, but with incentives it knocked $10K off so it was $61K before the $3,750 fed tax credit.

When trading it in, I forgot to give them the camp speaker as I replaced it with a draw a couple months back, I also forgot to give them the bag for the tonneau cover panels, I kept the NACS-J1772 adapter I just received two weeks ago, and I also kept the wristband because that did not come with my R1T. I guess I'll sell the NACS adapter as the Jeep only has level 2 charging.

I was a pre March price increase customer, after the fed tax credit I took in 2023, my R1T cost $68K, I had it for almost two full years and got $60K for it on the trade in, I consider that pretty decent.

Old ride meet new ride....

Congrats! I recently rented the Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe for 2 weeks while on a trip and was tremendously impressed by the hybrid execution despite only 20 - 30miles of electric only range.

I find it hard to go back to ICE, but I could def see myself in one for sure.

Thanks!

20-30mi EV range works for me, my average trip is 5-10 miles and I work from home.

We still have the Model 3 and the i3, since the Jeep can run in pure EV mode, that still makes three out of our four vehicles EV's.

I’ve been a Wrangler owner for years. I’ve had three of them with the last being a Rubicon on 37s that I loved to drive up the trails in the Rockies. But I don’t trust that 4xe system at all. We had one burn up right here in town. Totally torched the owners garage. It was amazing the rest of the house didn’t go up in flames. Part of that was a lack of training on the FD part but it shouldn’t have caught fire to begin with…

Hopefully, Jeep has those bugs worked out. I do like their really nice power feature. Basically you plug an inverter into the charge socket and you get plenty of power for camping activities. Best of luck to you.

As someone who grew up in the 50’s and 60’s (1st DL 1962) the idea of a Jeep having a MSRP of $71k is ghastly. I’m in Hawaii at least a couple of times a year, and drive my 2010 Kia Sportage I have there. $9500 used! And it doesn’t bounce all over the road. It will die one day, maybe get a used Jeep from one of the rental places…

Stelantis is going out of business and cutting product lines so service might be a problem.

Jeeps are great in Hawaii. Typically we rent at OGG Airport. I always want a soft top for those trips, but they almost have none now.....too much renters can't figure out how to fold and they damage them. So instead the Freedom panels come out asap and stay out....

You must not offroad.....noway my R1T could do what we do in the Jeeps...
I've never had any issues with the R1T off road.

You must not onroad. No way the Jeeps can do what we do in the R1Ts

You must not do trails we do....my R1T would high center on over half the rocks...

And as far as on road.....that is why I have the R1T. More than one arrow in the quiver. R1T is most well rounded vehicle I have ever owned....by alot.....but noway it can do what a lifted Rubicon with lockers and 35's and lifted...with a winch just in case....can do.

Just like it can't keep up in corners with a proper sports car.

Comes dang close....on both ends....which is what is so impressive...and rides on highway like a dream....but it has limitations...like all all purpose solutions.

Perhaps it's been mentioned here already, but the thing with Plug-In's is that in EV only mode....they are slooow compared to a full BEV. To each their own but no thanks.
