True, but the Jeep Wrangler has the highest rollover rate in the industry.
Doesn't mean its a common occurrence.

My Wrangler has never shut down at 75mph on the highway. My Rivian has.

Rollover? Rollover? Did somebody say rollover?

I didn't want to have to bring this up, but I bought a brand new Suzuki Samurai in 1987 as a kid making $23K/year working at Radio Shack in the local mall. It was shortly after the release of the Samurai that good old Consumer Reports (you know, the car experts  ) put out a hit piece claiming it was unsafe to drive as it was prone to rollovers. After that, all sorts of media experts went out of their way to make the Samurai roll over. I drove that Suzuki from 1987-1992 without ever coming close to rolling it. Yes, it was prone to rollovers if you didn't treat it properly. It's a tall, narrow vehicle with a short wheelbase, same as the Jeep.

Those things were beasts....

A roommate in college had one and we had some serious fun in that thing. Dukes of Hazzard style. Plus it would pull a full size car out of a driveway....in gear....that would park illegally all the time in our driveway...it was impressive how it dragged that thing....

Damn! Never tried that with mine, but I used to bring it to the beach all the time and as long as you aired down before hitting the sand it was decent enough as a small 4X4.

My Suzuki was the same color as the one in the photo above from BAT, I even had the same aftermarket SS bar on the door, same rims too. Kind of makes me wonder if that's my Suzuki I got rid of 32 yrs ago ☺

If you’re satisfied with this change, keep being happy!

You didn’t specify what your Rivian was, which significantly impacts bargaining and economic value.

This is a typical example of messages I’d rather not see on this forum. You didn’t discuss any positive or negative technical experiences. Instead, you focused solely on specific economic aspects related to a particular period to reduce the stock of models in a specific state, all for the sake of saving taxes. It seems like you’re the type of person who buys an Android phone because it costs $200 less.

Everyone is free to make their own choices, but you may not have fully understood the vehicles you’re driving.

I’ve been driving Volvos for 12 years, and my last one was a fantastic XC90 plug-in T8 Polestar with R-Design and sports rims from 2021.

Despite some objective differences in interior finishes and certain details, my family and I didn’t regret switching to a Quad G1 2024. In fact, we’re very happy with it.

Two weeks ago, Rivian gave us a rental car for two weeks—a Wrangler 4xe. It was much improved compared to two years ago, even the amenities. However, the driving experience was significantly simply incomparable to the Rivian. Please!

You’re comparing apples to oranges!

Who doesn’t understand Rivian? It’s the revolution he created in the electric vehicle industry, and he deserves to succeed.

I’m glad I joined the Rivian community, even though it’s imperfect. It’s much better than other traditional and outdated car brands in terms of design, sales, and overall experience.

Those who own a Rivian know that every month, we receive a better vehicle that adapts and improves based on the feedback of our members, who have been listened to millions of times more than any other car brand on the market today.

to be honest, i am not happy 100% with my quad, probably i will when gen apply some rivian bulletins about suspension next week , but it is the most fresh product arrived on the market in the last 10 years after the first version of tesla !

probably economically speaking going only to the supermarket and some short trips , wrangle i am sure works !

Rivian is at all no cheap? but compared what they deliver , my point of view is that compare the money stella ‘tis asl for a jeep , rivian is much cheaper compare your new wrangle , that next year will have a bigger screen on the center console and the value will go down 10000 dollar.

this is old-school ….

P.S.

They likely gave you the discount because the manager of the dealership didn’t want to miss the opportunity to own a Rivian at that price.

This month, there’s a Tesla offer. In January, you could consider another trade-in and save a few more cents on taxes.

General comment to everyone discussing depreciation of a Rivian vs Jeep Wranglers.

If you think a Wrangler depreciates more than a Rivian....you are simply completely wrong.

Whatever
"Jeep" - kind of like "Harley" - it's a name thing in many ways - but that rough riding Jeep some people just love. it is a different ball game all together than a truck I think.

Plug-in I assume is very attractive - really what I wanted last year but not anything would fit my needs.... towing mostly - - Jeep has never been made to tow.

Congrats on the new toy.

Um, no.. the Discounts I got were advertised on their website in advance in writing for any prospective buyer not just some trading in a Rivian.
And the Trade in $$ they gave me for my Rivian was right out of the KBB valuator, again an advance.

Friend, go to KKB.com and input the info for your Rivian (if you even own one), those $$ are the max you can expect on a trade in, and it may come as a surprise to you, but most car dealerships are not clamoring for a Rivian trade in because they can't sell it themselves, they will have to wholesale it out which means they don't make as much on it as they would a conventional auto trade in that they could sell for retail $$$.

I have. 22 Rubicon 4xe before the Rivian, had lots of problems in the beginning I have sorted all of them out and now the high voltage battery recall. The local Rivian SC has been great but a little frustrated with a few items on Rivian. Moldings coming off, front carpet soaked from AC as the plug in the firewall was “half installed” which meant whole dash comes apart and carpet replaced. AC also replaced, grommets that hold down the floor mats replaced as they didn’t stay connected underneath to the metal. I have time left in the lease, I think I am still further ahead with a R1S quad vs a Tesla Model x 6 seater.I really hope Rivian can get their stuff together. Hold quality and software are the 2 items in that area of concern, SC would follow on number of locations and appropriate staffing

Just lease. This space is evolving so rapidly, why get stuck with a model that's obsolete when you don't have to.

I am not stuck....I could replace it at anytime without concern. But in a lease....you are more stuck often during the lease period. I like the "I don't like it anymore" and can get rid of it today approach I take.

So I don't finance or lease vehicles. Gives me complete freedom of the moment.

You can sell a leased vehicle. I could sell this tomorrow 4 months into the lease. Rivian would give me a payoff on it. Tesla does not allow purchasing a lease, but you can still payoff the lease term just the same.
