Can you guys help me diagnose the two sounds below?

The first video with the faint squeaking happens when I regen brake and accelerate (I posted about it before but this is first time posting video). This is a 2025 Standard model R1S. No option to turn off blend braking in the Driver+ menu.

The second one happens randomly when I drive. On and off pretty consistently at random times. It’s a rumbling noise in the back under the car by the wheels. Is this the compressor thing?

Both very annoying and I can’t get it officially diagnosed by Rivian until mid December and I just bought the car a few weeks ago. Thx.

I honestly can't hear any squeaking in the first video - maybe it's not coming across well I'm the recording?

The second one is indeed the air compressor for your suspension

First one sounds like normal motor whine to me. I agree with @mpshizzle on the second video. Compressor.

I am familiar with that slight squeaking sound. You guys can hear it at 0:07-0:08. I actually dropped off my Gen 1 R1S yesterday for that, along with two other issues. The manager came for a test drive with me and I pointed out the sound. His response was “it’s normal because of the hydraulic fluid moving around”. He said he will look at my lines and see if they are the old style or new. If old, they will replace them. But he doesn’t guarantee the sound will go away. If anything may dampen it a bit. He also said sw updates will eventually fixes it.
I didn’t buy what he said. They gave me a R1T loaner and that car does the same squeaking sound!! Scratching my head….

That’s a bummer. Is ur R1S and the loaner both standard dual motors (mine is)? Wonder if it’s isolated to those versions of the vehicles. Was also hoping it could be the jounce line issue but if they’re not diagnosing it as such, this is a little worrisome. Mine seems to be getting louder and also longer in duration and now happens consistently when I hit 35mph vs previous it happened only consistently when I was going much slower. I just uploaded the videos thru the service app (per Rivian’s request), so I’ll keep you posted if they have an update prior to my service appointment.

Other than that the car is great. It’s just super annoying and starting to get louder.

Thanks. Is the compressor running that loud on and off throughout a single ride, considered normal?

Both are large with quad motors.

Well hard to say. I've only heard of from the outside of the vehicle once, and that was very brief. I've definitely heard it plenty of times from the inside. Usually right after getting off the freeway and the suspension is moving back to standard. From the inside it's audible, but pretty quiet. If I'm listing to music or if people are talking I can't hear it at all. I rarely notice it

Mine happens mostly all the time as soon as I start to drive. It comes and goes and will go away after a few stops, but I can’t figure out why it’s doing it so frequently.

For all the sensitive folks on this forum, I normally wouldn’t complain about this in a forum setting but when your service appointment is so delayed, the only option we have is this forum.

All that said, I still love the car. Just frustrating that we have to live in uncertainty until we hear back.

When is ur appointment and how often does the rumbling happen for you?
it’s random, but always occurs when suspension height is changed, and started last week (I got this car on 9/28).

I have a mobile appointment for November (squeezing it in with other existing issues on same day) but it’s under review. I’ll likely call and ask to take it in.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem

The suspension calibrates relatively frequently. If this is happening constantly, it'll almost certainly throw a code and you'll know there's a problem. Otherwise, it's just the suspension calibrating itself.
