So what are you all paying MONTHLY for insurance? I've had State Farm for years and had a great experience. We have our house, and another car through them as well so we get the multi-car discount. I called today to get a quote as I take delivery on the 27th of this month and was quoted $150/month for full coverage with a $500 deductible. Does that seem right? Is there anything I can do to get that lowered? No accidents or tickets on our record. 2025 R1T Dual-Motor Performace. Thanks!

If you’re actually paying (being billed) on a monthly basis, switch to paying 6 or even 12 months at a time. State Farm charges interest to pay your auto insurance each month instead of every 6 months. I don’t know if they offer a discount for being billed every 12 months for auto insurance.

You can also try switching to $1,000 deductible. A few years back, I raised my auto liability coverage to 500k and at the same time also raised the comp/coll deductible to 1k to keep my premiums about the same as what they had been.

I pay approximately $2,100/yr for my R1T and my wife’s A5 Cabriolet. I believe the R1T is slightly cheaper than the A5.

Insurance is dependent on many factors. Things like credit score, location, age, sex, claims history, and vehicle type are all taken into account. Also, how much coverage do you have?

Raising your deductible helps.

100/300/300 is what we have with home, umbrella, auto, RV through geico. We have a 17yo driver on the policy too so what we pay will be a lot more. We pay approx $370 a month for three vehicle. 23 R1T, 24 R1S, and 21 Honda pilot along with our travel trailer.

The question is, are you paying a fair market rate for someone with all the same characteristics as you the only way to find that out is to shop around and compare rates with other major insurance carriers.

we had SF for about 10 years and after three double digit rate increases back in 2021…the last of which was 30%!!! Before our teen had her license we switched.

Not for me. Was 2x what I pay for Geico on the Rivian, and we have AAA for home.

I have increased my deductible on home and vehicles to $2500. Significantly lowers your premiums and since you are betting on not having an accident and filing any claims anyway this works for me.

NY is a No Fault state, so our rates are high, I was paying $1,200 for six months with $1,000 deductible for my R1T. For reference, even our tiny little i3 is over $1,000 for six month now. NY sucks for car insurance.

$83.44 a month through State Farm. The R1T is the most expensive vehicle on the policy, and I have home and umbrella which means I have to carry the highest available liability rates. Deductable is high (1K/2K) because the only time I would make a claim is for major damage or replacement. It probably helps that I live in a remote/rural area and garage my cars but there are so many factors. I dropped Allstate because it was 2x higher.

I pay $280/month with $1,000 deductible. But, I live in California where we have regulated ourselves into everything costing ridiculous amounts

Switched from Geico (customer for 10+ years) to Rivian/Nationwide. Saved about $600/ year overall. Have house, auto (2 cars), umbrella ($5M).

Your rate seems reasonable, but no harm in checking out other carriers as well.

@FormulaR1T ... Likely the easiest way to lower your rates is to increase your deductible to $1000 or even $2000. The only reason to carry a lower deductible is to minimize your out of pocket expenses in case there's a claim. About 15 years ago my State Farm agent asked me why I was carrying a $500 deductible rather than a $1000 when the difference between the two was about $200/year. As he said, paying $200 per year for only an additional $500 in coverage is a lot...especially if you don't have any claims.

I changed my deductible then and haven't looked back. When I got the R1T I bumped t up to a $2,000 deductible and my State Farm rate is about $1400/year based on 17k miles annually.
