I think the 10,000 is more of a best case scenario number. The locking pin on my A2Z adapter stopped locking after about 10 uses. Before anyone knee-jerk react to this news... WATCH THE VIDEO. IT'S NOT AS BAD AS IT LOOKS.
TLDR:
- The adapter is not dangerous.
- But because of changing standards—which sounds to be finalized now—the plastic locking pin may wear and provide less locking force after 10,000 uses.
It charges the vehicle just fine, but I can insert, charge, and remove the NACS cable without ever touching the lock slider.
I can't say for sure that it is super dangerous (i'm not dead yet) but the pin is doing nothing to hold the NACS cable in and the non-functional lock is not preventing it from powering up..
