Greetings! A week ago I went Normal to trade in my 22 QM RT and pick up
the 2025 Tri max Ascend. I have driven 400 miles and have downloaded the most recent SW update, I am very happy with the Tri motor except for these two issues:
1. My iPhone key cannot access the RT unless I am close to the vehicle. Therefore, I cannot wake up the vehicle to monitor or activate functions using the Rivian app from a distance. The phone key works flawlessly with bluetooth to access the vehicle. I did a hard reset and unpaired the phone and then set it up again as a key but the issue still persists.
2. The HVAC/heat pump is rather noisy inside and outside the vehicle. Sounds like a car engine when on. Inside the cabin there is a strong vibration coming from the dash and up to the steering wheel. I can’t imagine this is normal.

My 2022 QM RT was near library quiet when the HVAC was on. I could also monitor it from across the country using the Rivian app using the same iphone.

Has anyone experienced something similar with Gen 2? I have a mobile service appointment this Tuesday 12/3 to look into these issues and hopefully the problems will be corrected without having to drive to Normal for servicing.
Cheers!

I've had a little HVAC noise but nothing like you describe. Connectivity was off and on but a reset fixed it.

My gen 2 heat pump makes about the same noise as my gen 1 HVAC but less vibration and I can barely hear it in the cab. It makes the most noise when it's really cold makes less noise as it warms up.

I had issues with my iPhone on my gen 1, unpairing and re-pairing fixed it for me.

I have about 700 miles on my 2025 R1S TriMax (I love it, all of it, stereo, heat-pump no complaints thus far) that I picked up a little over a week ago. Couple of thoughts: re: heat-pump vibration and rumbling noise; it's the heat pump compressor; it's typical of heat pumps of all varieties. Connectivity, get a WiFi router extender for better connectivity to your R1. I was able to get weak WiFi in my garage on my phone and R1S that resulted in spotty phone to Rivian communication and added a mesh extender to my Starlink router that now enables flawless and robust connectivity between my phone and Rivian.

Many thanks for everyone’s comments! After a reset yesterday the HVAC is more quiet and there is less vibration, but the noise and vibration does seem to cycle maybe because unit cold. The outside temperature is in the 20’s but once the RT warms up the cabin is more quiet. Regarding connectivity, my garage has a strong Eero mesh wi-fi signal do
that is not problem. connection is spotty, off and on, when using Celluar. I deleted and reinstalled the Rivian app and that seems to have helped but it’s not flawless, yet. Mobile service is arriving today to look it over.
