Hi all, I have a lifetime subscription from ?year? (When Howard went to Sirius). Unable to switch from old car to Rivian via the web. Called customer service and they could not do it either.

Elevated to the Customer Care team and just got off the phone with a lovely lady from Nova Scotia (Cheryl, Corporate Solutions Team, 855-238-9256, Option 3). Anyway, they successfully transferred my lifetime account from my old Honda to the Rivian. I kinda feel bad for whoever bought my Honda and has been getting free Sirius since June of last year ?.

I *think* the trick is that they created a new account with a new username and password and applied a “complimentary” lifetime trial. Anyway, it is working for now.
So all you lifetime people, there is a way to transfer. For others, it might be a use case scenario.

Either way, this is a unique vehicle ID and not just using your streaming account.

Thanks for this…..I have a lifetime as well….still wondering why they would do a separate ID when all were doing is streaming….but it is what it is….

Tried the XM update last night for the first time. BLOWN AWAY. I'm not sure if it's all due to the app or increased bitrate, or if some stereo tweaks got snuck in to the update as well, but for the first time I feel like I have a car with an actual premium sound system.

I signed in with my account today on my Rivian, and it doesn't seem to recognize my membership. Probably going to have to talk to someone at SXM to figure out how to have it in the Rivian and on my phone.
I believe Rivian has to be added to your existing account first for it to work. I used it for yrs up until recently when I started using Tunein and Apple Music. Now that it’s native app to Rivian, i have to consider if i will switch back.

I believe Rivian has to be added to your existing account first for it to work. I used it for yrs up until recently when I started using Tunein and Apple Music. Now that it’s native app to Rivian, i have to consider if i will switch back.
I chatted SXM Customer Care and they removed my old car that I had been using for streaming (no longer had) and added the Rivian. 3 months free, then $5/month for 12 months - Platinum Plan.

Tried to add my Rivian radio ID to my account and it just says it can't be completed online. What a mess.

I was able to log in using my account username and password, but it wants me to subscribe. I'm not sure why I would do that when I can use my phone and play through Bluetooth!

When I had XM subscription, the phone/internet streaming was simply an added benefit. An XM subscription for a vehicle is primarily what i had to have.

Yes, I think so too. My old car had a 5 year plan on it and they refunded me $129 on that. So basically good to go for the remainder of my 23 month lease on AR1S.

Strange, When I called it was a North American person that answered and confirmed all the detail on my account. We will see how this plays out as I will not be paying another fee if I have to subscribe.

The $4/month promo is streaming only, Rivian will be actually be added as a vehcile Platinum plan (including streaming). I think $5/month for 12 months is the best I could get via chat agents.

The email confirmation is listed as:

" SiriusXM Music & Entertainment ($4.59/Month for 12 Months) "

I tried out SXM and it's pretty decent. It's nice to have all your favorite stations easily accessible with a touch. Sound quality seems good, but small sample size. While Don Henley Sunset Grill was playing on SXM I jumped to the same song on the car Apple Music then streaming from my iPhone on BT. Not sure if I could pick put much difference between the 2 native car apps but the bluetooth was definitely worse, flat.

A new SXM feature to me is the pause, replay, skip ability, must be some buffering. Also, the option to switch to an Artist Station when a song is playing, which opens up an artist station on Pandora.

For $5/months I will probably go with it, nice to have for road trips or just having commercial free stations. Also, the interface is definitely faster than Apple Music, and the last station being played starts right up again when getting back in the car. This is definitely not the case with AM or Spotify for me.

So another 45 minutes on the line with XM today and again they told me they aren't familiar with Rivian, it's new to them, and they don't know how to connect to my vehicle and that "they'll escalate it" and I should hear back in 7-10 business days. Pretty week all around. When I transferred to my last new car 7 years ago I didn't even get out of the dealership and was listening to XM.
Just login to SiriusXM online, go to your account and select add a new car. Then enter your Rvian VIN number. I did that yesterday and added it to my existing account that has my Wife's car on it. Paying $5 a month for the Rivian.
