I have a streaming only account, at 2.99/mo, because I "complained" awhile back. I was able to login with that information and all my saved info and favorites loaded right up, only took a few minutes.
But what does it show under your profile? Does it show as 30 day trial?

$5? For Howard that's probably worth it. I'll have to see how his schtick is going these days.

I have a suspicion after the 30 day trial. Even if you’re logged in, you’ll have to get a separate account for the car. I looked in the section of the Radio ID and it has a separate Radio ID. Even though Siri said that it doesn’t show up in my account even though I’m logged in

Yeah my assumption is the same and that it's being counted as a radio (as the ID shows) and they'll want a sub for it just like a normal hardware based sat radio vehicle. Which I suppose makes sense?

While I don't want yet another sub in my life if you could just have one steaming account and then log Rivian after Rivian in with the same account I could see how that would not be desirable by any streaming provider.

But they could also have approached it as allowing like 2 or 3 devices to use streaming and then a phone & Rivian is covered. Seems like a bit of a clusterf*ck atm though.

Damn, you are right. Still says trial and the login just loads your profile. Maybe Sirius will cave like they usually do to try to keep people subscribed to whatever they currently have. Either way, we have lots of different music options, so don't really care, too many choose from, just nowhere to insert my cassettes and CDs.

Hi all, I have a lifetime subscription from ?year? (When Howard went to Sirius). Unable to switch from old car to Rivian via the web. Called customer service and they could not do it either.

Elevated to the Customer Care team and just got off the phone with a lovely lady from Nova Scotia (Cheryl, Corporate Solutions Team, 855-238-9256, Option 3). Anyway, they successfully transferred my lifetime account from my old Honda to the Rivian. I kinda feel bad for whoever bought my Honda and has been getting free Sirius since June of last year ?.

I *think* the trick is that they created a new account with a new username and password and applied a “complimentary” lifetime trial. Anyway, it is working for now.
So all you lifetime people, there is a way to transfer. For others, it might be a use case scenario.

Either way, this is a unique vehicle ID and not just using your streaming account.
Good luck and Happy Holidays!

You have to be careful with the transfer of lifetime subscriptions as they only allow you to do it 3 times. Before you were able to move it to any new car radio. I had them make my streaming login the lifetime as I will never not have a device to use it on. even if we have to lay the $5 a month for the Rivian, the integration is really good. I really like the voice search function.

$5/mo really isn't bad and the variety of SXM channels is pretty nice. Too bad there isn't a satellite antenna. I've never been impressed with SXM sound quality, it's always been better to stream from my phone in my other cars. I will probably give the trial a go and do some sound comparisons.

I was able to log in using my account username and password, but it wants me to subscribe. I'm not sure why I would do that when I can use my phone and play through Bluetooth!

Thank you
Ron
I had to work with SiriusXM support line to get the accounts all squared away in the logins to work.

For me, the bottom line is paying for the convenience of interfacing with Sirius on your center console versus on your phone. If you don’t mind having to pull out your phone and navigate stations on your phone then you’re better off using the phone.
If you’d rather leave your phone in your pocket and navigate off the center console screen with bigger buttons, then pay for the monthly fee.

Remember there is a promo right now they’ve been offering Rivian sign ups at 4.99 a month for the first 12 months And then it was $15 a month after on the promo. The normal price is $23-$28 a month long-term. They weren’t going to tell me about the promo until I saw it on a text message. When I brought up the specifics, then they were willing to give me that price but only after I initiated the topic.

Not sure that 3 car transfer is true anymore. There is an option to switch on the webpage for a $35 fee. No mention of limits.

Thank you, we pay $60/year on my wife’s, which why I am able access it on my phone. I personally prefer Spotify!

Got an email from SXM. They think I’m on trial, even though I already have an account with the same email. What a mess from SXM. I don’t blame Rivian on this.

It's a new radio ID hence the trial. Pretty sure it's operating as expected.

BRILLIANT! I'll be sure to follow you for more recipes after I spend another 2 hours on the phone trying to understand why SXM's trying to milk us $25.10 for a $10 plan. You're the best!
Sorry to hear that you think it will take 2 hours on the phone to understand what most of us understand intuitively - SXM is financially in poor condition and they are trying to boost revenue via higher prices for new EV accounts. It's as simple as that. It has nothing to do with how they deliver content - whether it's satellite, streaming, brain implants, smoke signals, or Pony Express.

One thing they may be getting overlooked in this whole Satellite vs Streaming XM debate is QUALITY. I swear the bitrate I was getting from the satellite-based hardware on my last couple cars made it barely listenable. (Blame it on XM's millions of channels model) I'm hoping that with streaming, I'll get the same quality I enjoyed when listening on my phone. (please please please)
I noticed it did sound better than streamed from my phone. I am not an audiophile and probably have old ears. But sounded better to me.
