Sagging - is this normal?

Any parts replacements done?

I believe they only recalibrated the level sensors. No parts replacement. I was really skeptical that would solve the problem, and it’s still sometimes off, but by and large it’s better.

It seems strange that it's sagging at the end of a trip.

i think he is saying a trip away from home for an extended period of time. not a trip in his rivian.

I’ve taken it into the SC and they said they fixed it. Nope. Same thing happening. I’ll maybe try again next time I have something.

I have the same and the supposedly looked at it and pulled logs saying it was “within spec”. It’s on my list to put in again when I make another appointment.

I have the same issue, sagging when parked for a while. Mine was intermittent, didn't always sag, just every once in a while. I contacted service last week and they want to know the date an times it happens. So jot this down when it happens to help them pinpoint the time and day. They got me in quickly, following week, because there was a cancelation. When I showed up they had already puled diagnostics from the vehicle (big time saver) and pinpointed the issue for the SC to check. Game changer for service! If you are having this issue, contact service sooner rather than later. You don't want to burn out your air compressor too.

Since the last update, mine adjusts almost every other stop light. I haven’t parked for a long time to see if sagging is an issue. In early June I will. What was your fix?

Just dropped it off today but the data points to bad rear shock. I have 95k miles so not unexpected. Should be done by Sat.

I noticed my front end sagging every morning, but it would level out as I got in and the suspension was adjusting. I had a service appointment scheduled for last month before my warranty was up at 60K miles. It had 57,300 when I brought in my gen1 R1T. They replaced the dampers with "upgraded" dampers and jounce lines. During the comprehensive inspection, they also found the left rear damper to be leaking so they replaced the damper and jounce lines on that one too. I asked about the right rear, since they replace 3 of the 4 and they said it was still operating normally and didn't replace it.
I asked how much it would cost out of warranty to replace just one damper and jounce line and he said it would be about $6K. That's $18K for those three if it weren't under warranty! I had other things done such as tonneau cover replacement, A/C system retrofit, buzzing fan behind driver display, secondary driver assistance module replacement, etc. All-in-all, it would've cost over $22K for the replacements if it weren't under warranty. I'm at 59K now and will go over 60K by Memorial Day weekend. A few months ago, I purchased the extended warranty from Xcelerate Auto so now I'm covered until 156K miles, which gives me peace of mind, since components and labor are so expensive.

So, they recommend doing at least a pair. So both rear shocks would have been about $3300, but I opted to do all 4 so I will be on the newest Air suspension for all 4 wheels. So my total is $6500. Not cheap so if you are still under warranty and seeing any sagging, Take it in!

I had both front dampers replaced due to "slow internal leaks" inside of 5000 miles on my Gen 2. With those leaking dampers my truck drove like crap...harsh, out of sync, and very noisy in the front. My rear suspension is fine.

Even after the damper replacement, the ride height is all over the place in the front. It varies by 1 5/8" at most. The largest single variance I've recorded on the rear suspension was 3/8". So a huge difference in behavior back to front.

My measurements were always taken in AP/Standard/Moderate and from the exact same mark on the model level point of my carport to ensure consistency. I'm wondering if I have a ride height sensor issue.

Is this is really a big problem after 8 days. Mine looks kinda like that after a week and a half. How long do we expect it to take to say a bit?

mine also does this. I was gone about 10 days and it was totally slammed when I returned. A lot of other threads made me think that this was within normal spec and I haven’t taken it up with the service center yet. It would be useful to know if people have some sort of litmus test or barometer for how much sagging is considered normal.

I'd say in both your instances, I'd submit a service ticket. It certainly shouldn't sag much at all after a week and a half, or even two weeks. I've been gone nearly 3 weeks and it looks exactly the same as the day I left it.

I can understand a tiny leak showing itself over 6 months of sitting, but air suspension isn't a new technology. Lots of vehicles have it.

Somewhat related, the driver's front side seemed to be little lower than the other corners. On a flat surface, off road mode showed a 1% roll angle. Service "calibrated the suspension" and it was fine. It never sagged, but it was just a bit lower naturally than the others.

I'm curious what "calibrated the suspension" actually consists of. Also, do you think this calibration is performed as a part of protocol after replacing dampers? Or is it a different process all together?

I can't say for certain, but I do know for some vehicles with electronic suspension, there are control module configurations as well as small manual links which can be adjusted to modify suspension height.

That's probably what happened in my case.

i did this long ago and they kept it a week and told me it’s within spec.
