If you're talking about the OEM front LP bracket, when we bought our R1S Demo vehicle, it came with the front bracket RIVETED on.
So, I had to drill those out to remove them.... annoying. I still haven't found plugs small enough to patch them and I'm not yet motivated enough to drill them out larger so I can put plugs in, so for right now we're just living with the ~0.1" holes.

If you have not already drilled your bumper, I would advise getting a removable license plate bracket. I have one from SnapPlate that works well, but I think there are others. They can be installed and removed without tools.

The thought of drilling holes into a perfectly good plastic bumper to attach an ugly front plate makes my skin crawl. If/when CHP tells me to "fix it" I'll either go with a Snap Plate or another option that attached to the tow hook and it'll be just as legal.

If the front bumper isn't drilled yet, just get yourself a Snapplate. If it's already drilled, this site is searchable from within and through Google (just include "rivianforums.com" in your Google query... works for any topic and any site you wish to target). You can also get yourself a set of thread checking tools cheaply (which is always good to have in any tool collection).

Yeah I'm leaning towards waiting on CHP to tell me to fix it before I spend $100+ on a 3dv printed license place holder. I'm personally not a fan of how it looks.

There are multiple alternatives to the Snapplate, like ones that mount to the tow hooks (if you got them). If you don't have tow hooks on your gen2, but do have that screw-in tow loop instead, you can buy plate mounts that screw into that threaded socket in the bumper. You just need to find out what thread pitch it is (if it's the same as ones found on BMWs, MBs, VWs, etc.). This type of mount is sold all over the place on the internet, eBay and Amazon. Use forum search.

I used to use SnapPlate and it was great until I went through a river and the current snapped it off and my plate was gone forever. I forgot to take it off as I have easily taken it off many times before. So after that, I went with the plate decal from licenseplatewrap.com, which is authorized by the DMV in CA.
