Late tonight I got an email from rivian saying that I urgently needed to tick off two boxes and confirm my name and date of birth. It didn’t come from Morgan Stanley so I’m skeptical. Anyone else get the same email? Doesn’t seem legit for a max order of 175 shares. Please share your thoughts. Thank you

No. Can you post a screenshot of it? Seems odd.

I'm not stating anything related to this particular email being legit or fake, but...

NEVER click on the links in any e-mail that you receive. Login on the web service by going directly to the web server and then navigating to the appropriate place on the web site.

With rampant phishing emails in the wild, official emails should never include a "click here" link that needs to be opened since that just primes their customers to fall for potential phishing attacks in the future.

Yes on that note I got a text from what appeared to be my chase account for a different transfer amount than I had put in for it five minutes after I went on the Morgan Stanley account and and transferred money to that account. Like I always say in the tax business and in life too, there is never a shortage of people doing it wrong. I could see how someone that did not know any better might click that link.

Fully get that. I’ve never been in a place to participate in a DSP so it’s all new to me. I will ignore this. I’ve already created my Morgan account. Thank you all For feedback.

You should probably also delete the screenshots you posted since they contain your full name.

Lots of weirdos out there…
