So, I’m driving along minding my own business when, out of nowhere, my car audio says, loud and clear, “You’re welcome.” Whoa! WTH was that? At the time, I was not listening to anything on the car audio. At first, I thought maybe it was an Alexa thing, but I do not use nor do I have Alexa activated. My iPhone was sleeping on the center console, so I thought I would try the Hey Siri thing. Sure enough, I got a chime over the car audio system, indicating Siri was awake. As a test, I asked Siri to send a text. Siri responded, I dictated and sent the text - all over the Rivian audio system. Then, I asked when the Warriors were playing again and the response came over the car audio. Then, I asked Siri for some directions. In this case, I did get the directions, but they came via my phone. I have never had this experience in the year and half I have owned my R1T. I need to play with this some more.

I can’t recall anybody mentioning this experience, and I had no idea Siri could function through the car audio system In this manner. Kinda cool.

Yes, I’ve been using Siri for reading and sending texts on my trips. It is a good work around until texting through Rivian is implemented.

I must have been talking to myself to activate Siri ? Don’t know why it hasn’t happened before, however.

I use it to make phone calls and play podcasts. I used it for music before native Apple Music arrived. Rivian needs to add a way to do voice search for Apple Music - it didn’t sound as good but was much easier asking Siri to play what I wanted.

Been using Siri since 2022 just keep your phone face up, it’s not part of the truck it just uses your phone / integrated audio via Bluetooth
