5,000 mile update. Got them rotated for the first time today. Wear is even all the way around at 11/32. Efficiency is dead on with what I was averaging on the stock Pirelli ATs now that the weather has warmed up. Noise level is also still good.

Overall I’m happy with them. I will be interested to see how they continue to wear and whether I get more mileage than the Pirellis.

Equal in efficiency. Lower cost. I'd say it's a winner.

I got the Terra Grappler G3's in 275/65/r20 on my dark AT wheels. On Nitto's website they say the tires go up to 51 PSI but on the sidewall of my tires it says 44 PSI maximum. So I'm riding around with tire pressure warning lights on at 44 PSI. Anybody else have this issue?

Contact Nitto regarding mismatch? In the meantime increase to 46 and see if Rivian’s software accepts it? Generally a few psi over max is probably ok. But best to get tire manufacturer’s take on it.

I did contact them thank you. I'll update when I hear anything.

I'm curious what it says on the sidewall of the other folks in this thread who purchased the same tires.

Let me just say- 48 lbs is not 48 lbs is not 48 lbs. What one’s TPMS’s state and what any particular gauge may show could be very different. For instance, my Rivian TPMS reading may say 47 lbs. But, my hand held digital gauge says 50 lbs. I went to a tire shop and had them measure with their digital gauge and it read 49.2 lbs, when my TPMS‘s said 47 lbs. So, is it 47, 49.2 or 50? Who knows? The moral of the story is, these gauges have not all been calibrated to be absolutely accurate. My 50 lbs may be your 48 lbs. Not only that, but with ALL my tires reading 50 lbs (my digital gauge), you would think that all my tires would show the same 47 lbs reading from the TPMS’s. Wrong. They vary by a pound or so. Just sayin’.

Just checked mine and they also read max 44 psi. That doesn’t make sense as the specs on their website list max loading when inflated to 51psi and I thought I have seen other info listing the max psi as 54.

I wonder if it is a manufacturing misprint…

Actually Nittos website says the the 275/65r20’s are max 44 psi and the 275/60r20’s are 50 psi.

Ok, then they just changed the website because it said 51 previously.

Ditto. I looked yesterday and it said 51 for the 65 series. So they changed their production specs. Lame. Try creep up towards 48 psi until the warning stops. TBH, +4 psi is probably still within margin, but you never know.

Max tire pressure was one of the reasons I went with Toyo AT III EV was to safely pump the tire to stock specifications / lighter weight tire compared to other AT tires. The icing on the cake was price / H rating.

The max pressure for the new Pirelli XTM AT SL was 36 psi while the tire said 44 psi max.

The Toyo AT III EV said max is 51 psi on the tire and website states the same.

I've had these for about 6 months now and ran them at the old 51 psi max and seemed fine. Ijust lowered my tires to 48 after seeing the updates here. So what happens when a manufacturer just seems to arbitrarily change the specs after the release and doesn't notify any existing owners? Just seems like a shady practice at best or potentially dangerous at worst. I personally would have skipped these if they listed the now max of 44 psi back when I was shopping for new tires.

Just to follow up, I emailed Nitto customer service to ask about the specs change and they confirmed it was an error at launch. I asked them to swap my tires to the LT and I'll cover the price difference and they agreed. They created a case number and I had to go to my local America's Tire (AT) to get it handled.

AT called the number and gave the case number but the Nitto rep couldn't see anything on their end. The AT employee gave them the specs they were asking for and also explained the situation and was told Nitto had to get the approval. Instead of making me wait for who knows how long, the AT employee just did a credit/rebuy on their side and told me they'll deal with Nitto if/when they hear back.

End of the day, I paid about $300 to get the LTs (had to pay $100 for the AT install) and I'm happy with the resolution and especially with how AT handled the process! This is why they get me and my families tire work. Now I'm just waiting for the new tires to arrive so I can swap them out. I put about 4k miles since January 2025 and my average was 1.95 m/kwh. Will be curious to see how these LT sizes do.

That stretch where you observed 1.95 included cold weather, right? Keen to see what you get with the LTs.
