But it's only the "new CarPlay instrument cluster" view, you don't get the infotainment screen CarPlay. It was CarPlay, then they changed their mind…. You guys don’t deserve it![]()
Interesting - Gen 1 is driver +, Gen 2 is RAP. since taking delivery in September there have not been any updates for rap exclusively. They've always been wrapped in with the big system updatesWhen I got the Driver+ update a few weeks ago, the keyfob update also showed up. Once I fetched the fob and placed it in the vehicle, it went away.
I guess? When I got wind of Driver+ update I assumed it was gen 2 only. Was surprised to see it pop up on my gen 1. It definitely installed something, but had no release notes.
Isn’t 2025.10.30 the latest version?I just got this notification a few minutes ago. I'm already on 2025.10.01, when I go into the app it doesn't show any pending update, nor anything about a failed update. Not a Connect+ subscriber, so I don't know what it is for.

Different versions of software for Gen1 and Gen2Isn’t 2025.10.30 the latest version?
Oh ok. Makes sense. Thanks.Different versions of software for Gen1 and Gen2
Hmm... starting to look like someone at Rivian clicked on something they shouldn't have.
I got the notification yesterday while I was out, so I set it to install an hour later (when I knew I'd be home). I got home earler than that and it asked if I wanted to "install now". I told it to go ahead. Forgot about it until this morning. Went out and it said it had installed, but that there were "errors".Aaaaand now I got notified that it failed even though I didn't initiate the update
I received something very similar on an R1T Gen 1 loaner I had a couple of weeks ago. I installed the update and after it finished I checked to see if the version number has changed, it had not. Then sometime later I noticed when I hit the brake while using advanced cruise control that the mph setting on the driver's display remains blue and when I engaged the stalk it resumed cruise control. Worked the entire time I had the loaner. Service center personnel could not explain it, but did say they are kept in the dark on what's happening with anything related to new changes. It popped up on my phone quickly and loaded in about two minutes. Can't find any details on what just happened. Can anyone shed some light?
The message says “key fob unknown version” and something like “keep in range to update”. It displays that anytime the key fob isn’t in range. Bring the fob in range and it can tell that the firmware is current. This makes people think the firmware is out of date, but Rivian is not updating the key fob firmware that often. If they were, it would take longer than the few seconds it takes to bring the fob in range of the vehicle for it to flash new firmware. So I just checked my truck. No 01.0.0 fat finger update. But, interestingly, the keyfob update prompt popped up again. I'm just going to ignore it, for now.
