Just got the 275/65 installed today. I had 21's originally and at ~2.5 mpK after 20k miles, then switched to 20" Pirelli AT (tires at end of life) for another 4k miles and getting ~2.38mpK. Nice and quiet now at medium speed, but unfortunately the wind noise at highway speeds is back and more obvious now. I actually preferred the noisy tires over the wind noise on the highway.

Any updates from efficiency you're getting from 275/65 M/S2s? After 450mi, I'm getting around 2.19 (average 50F recently, ~46 cold psi). What PSI are you guys at? I'm thinking to bump it up to 50 at cold.

It's been too bitter cold to get meaningful data around here but I'll post some once it warms up.

I’m, I am confused. I just went to America’s/Discount Tire to get pricing and they said they do t make the LTX Ms2 anymore and steered me towards the Platinum.

they also said the Platinum was the same weight at the OEM Pirelli.

what am I missing?

You talked to someone who was wrong at least twice.

Yea, maybe they are thining the light truck version that has been around for years? Although I think that is still around as well. I would go back armed with the actual print out of the tire and model number of it.

It still doesn't show up on costco when searching for the tire or the vehicle, but I got mine there.

If you search on tire rack it shows up when searching for both the vehicle and the tire size ($332) https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...Year=2023&autoModel=R1S&autoModClar=275/65-20

I had same experience as you at the shop. Strangely, they could not place the order directly for me from their system, so I had to purchase it myself from TireRack and have it delivered to the store. Thereafter, they handled everything well. Call them to verify they received it before you go in even though you get notification that shipment was delivered.

Another update on LTX M/S2 275/65-20.. about 3K miles so far and seems I'm at ~2.42 mpk now (it's 2.35 on the trip meter, but I'm factoring in 3% on top of that because I haven't changed the wheel size yet to the larger OEM Pirelli AT yet). average temps here around 60-75 lately. Haven't measured wear, but from the looks of it, these will last forever.

Same here. Ours are smoooooth as silk and so quiet. I think we are averaging 2.37 on ours and I have the Rivian set to the correct size, but aftermarket all seasons. They aren't aggressive looking, but when clean and shined they get noticed for how big they are.

Just had the Defender LTX M/S2 tires installed in a 65 profile. I can't say for sure if they're quieter than the OEM 21s, since I made the switch from winter tires.

Ride quality is always subjective, but on the highway, they feel quite comfortable and do a nice job smoothing out bumps. However, there's a bit of a “floaty” or "boat-like" sensation, which makes aggressive cornering feel a little less confident. This could be due to the taller sidewalls—about 16% taller (7" vs. 6") compared to the 21s. Still, I’m enjoying the softer, more cushioned ride overall.

One downside I’ve noticed: road imperfections stand out more, and the ride gets noticeably louder on rough surfaces, especially gravel. It’s tough to say whether that’s due to the Gen 1 suspension or the tire’s firmer tread compound, which is likely optimized for longer tread life.

As for efficiency, I haven’t driven enough to judge yet—only about 100 miles in, and the weather hasn’t warmed up.

My 275/60/20 are actually a little less efficient than my stock Perelli AT. Not sure how, but they are. I had Rivian reprogram for 21 and they are displaying 2.03 efficiency over 2,300 miles. My lifetime efficiency over 38,776 miles is 2.11.
How is your efficiency now with the Michelin? I have the Rivian Goodyear 275/60/20 and the efficiency is pretty crappy 2.05 kwh over 2500 miles !!!

that is good for a 275/65/20 size. I'm more interested in 275/60/20 michelin number

Are these coming in anytime to Costco? The Costco tire person was not able to order them from his system. He asked me to order them Online, but they are not available..?
