Perhaps a lesson here is don't order stuff from your phone. I guess I'm getting old, but I prefer to order most things (besides take-out food, concert tickets, etc.) from my computer. Some webpages can be a bit tricky on mobile devices.

It simply isn’t true and yet you keep repeating it. Your invoice doesn’t reflect any such thing. That’s just the title of the product, regardless of which of the four sub-products/models you select below. You appear to have missed the 4 different model options when checking out, yet you did see the 2 lettering options (with/without letters) just below that since you chose the “without letters” option, which is not the default.

It’s a poor website design and bad customer service, but nowhere near the “gaslighting” and “manipulating” you described in your original post.

You ordered the wrong product and you received what you paid for.
Here you go man. Now stop saying I got what I paid for. This is the actual invoice that was emailed.

Edit: A member told me the PDF I attached expose some personal info. I took a screen shot to prevent it from showing.

Lol it says the same thing the previous version you shared says. That you ordered the wrong product. I and others have clearly explained the confusion here and you refuse to understand. I give up! Good luck and happy trails.

Nah, I just realized you're probably a EVbase troll. An unbiased person would acknowledge the vendor's error. They also wouldn't disregard the breach in our agreement. Hey, you do you man.

Merchants are human beings.
Unsurprising political statement....again.

And no, they are not. Human beings do create, own, and work at them however. You will not be allowed to define the message un-answered.

As unpleasant as that might be for both me and readers who have to read through the noise. Please stop interjecting such non-sense.

This is what it says on his invoice.
“2025 R1S R1T Rock Sliders Nerf Bars Side Step Underbody Protection Running
Boards With Lower Rocker Armor Panels
For Rivian Ă— 1

2025+ Rivian R1S Running Boards / Without
Letter

$549.99”

Nothing in that description indicates the item isn’t coming with Lower Rocker Armor Panels. The only thing it isn’t coming with, apparently, is the Letter option.

Check the following screenshot where the first choice indicates “Choose your model (Rivian) 2025+ R1S”

If you have a 2025 R1S then this indicates the correct option has already been chosen. There is no need to click anything else, so you can move on to the next choice.

The next choice is between “With Letter” and “Without Letter”

So, what exactly on the invoice or on the screen shot above is telling a consumer that they are NOT getting the,
“2025 R1S R1T Rock Sliders Nerf Bars Side Step Underbody Protection Running Boards With Lower Rocker Armor Panels For Rivian” described at the price shown for a 2025 R1S and without lettering?

I do not understand why you think what I posted was political. A merchant is a person who sells things. That is a fact, and politics have nothing to do with it. In this case, the merchant employs some people who work for the merchant and apparently make promises they are not authorized to make. They are all human beings and human beings are imperfect, but they are definitely human beings.

You are way too sensitive, man. Chill out. There are a lot of different opinions in this thread, and not everyone agrees. What is wrong with that?

I happen to want to get along with people I do business with. And in this case, I don't think they intentionally mislead the Mr. Opel.

However, I do understand why he is frustrated. I hope he can work out something with the merchant. Seems like the merchant isn't as concerned about the issue as the buyer is, which is unfortunate.

You have to be kidding me. It’s right there in the screenshot you posted. Below “Choose Your Model” there are 4 different options, each with their own picture. The pictures clearly show 2 options (one for R1S and one for R1T, even though the description also says R1S R1T) that are just the sliders and 2 options that include additional plates. Anyone with a pair of eyeballs can see that those are the armor panels. Another fun thing is you click on the different photos and the price magically changes. Wow!

It’s a dumb website design and confusing for sure but I don’t understand how so many of you refuse to acknowledge that it’s not that difficult to figure out how to order. You act like it’s impossible to discern. Countless others have bought these budget sliders without any issue.

Let’s imagine for a moment that some people rely on the written description of what they’re buying. People who subscribe to the philosophy of, “Can I get it in writing?” There are a lot of us out there. In fact, many (most?) businesses when discussing invoices will ask, “What does it say on your invoice?”

For all of us who rely on the written word, what exactly on the invoice or on the screen shot above is telling a consumer that they are NOT getting the,

Okay, i'll bite. What about reneging on the original settlement agreement? Am I reading that wrong too?

Why are you ignoring the the fact that the parties have already acknowledged mutual mistakes and have already agreed to a resolution. The issue is the subsequent breach.

I agree, it's unfortunate the merchant doesn't care. If I can help save one person some headaches, I've accomplished what I set out to do. I don't need the $210. They can purloin it. How much will they lose by not accepting accountability? I suspect it's more than $210. This thread has been seen by more than 2500 people.

I already acknowledged that reneging on an agreed upon resolution is poor customer service. That’s a business decision that they made.

You continue to refuse to acknowledge that you ordered the wrong product. It’s impressive, really. I’m amazed you can post on this forum if you can’t figure out how to order the right product on that webpage, in spite of the poor, catch all title used to drive traffic.

Sidebar, typically when you order a budget product the customer service is also going to be poor. That’s a business strategy/decision. They don’t care about providing world class service but that should be a known risk when you order the cheapest option out there.

No dude, I ordered from them because they offered a solution to not cut the panels. You can choose to deny the website is misleading. You can also choose to ignore the invoice reflecting the armor panels being included. You are not my target audience. However, I am forced to respond to your nonsensical assumptions to bring light to this matter. You already made your opinions known. You no longer need to chime in.

Btw, I didn't choose this battle. I can either stay quiet or hopefully someone can learn from my mistake(s). I bet you the members here will look more closely now. Again, you do you man.

This is going to blow your mind so buckle up. I’m going to use pictures to help illustrate.

Here is option 1:
Rivian R1T R1S WARNING!! EVBASE ISSUE IMG_6824

These are standard running boards for a Rivian R1S, as written. Thank god for the written word!

Here is option 2:
Rivian R1T R1S WARNING!! EVBASE ISSUE IMG_6825

These are standard running boards for a Rivian R1T. If you have an R1T instead of an R1S, these are just the product for you!

Here is option 3:
Rivian R1T R1S WARNING!! EVBASE ISSUE IMG_6826

Here’s where it gets interesting. These are also running boards for a Rivian R1S but they also include the armor protect the panels that the OP is after. The price even jumps up to $788! One can assume this is because the optional armor plates carry an additional cost to the manufacturer. They made a silly typo and wrote “armors protect panels” but at least it’s in writing. Phew!

Lastly, here is option 4:
Rivian R1T R1S WARNING!! EVBASE ISSUE IMG_6827

Just like option 3, this option include the armor protect panels for the running boards, but these are for R1T owners.

Note that for all 4 options the main title on the page doesn’t change. This is poor website design and should be fixed since it can lead to mistakes like the OPs, but by and large most people are able to figure out that there are 4 different options and how to choose the correct one.

And here is the kicker, if you look at the OPs invoice it includes the misleading, catch all title that doesn’t change across the 4 product options (stupid design and misleading) but under that is the highlighted sub text which just so happens to match the description from option 1. Woah!

Hope this helps.
