Well I was showing off my Rivian R1s tri motor today, put it in sport mode and floored it. For a second thought I may actually pass out and felt dizzy and nausea afterwords for a bit. Anyone else experience this?

I haven't felt that in the quad but now I'm thinking about upgrading when the new quad comes out. Thanks for that lol

If not exaggeration for dramatic effect... how's your blood pressure and cardiovascular health? I'm not kidding. Yes, having that much instantaneous power on-tap is dramatic. But it shouldn't cause you to almost blackout.

Agreed. Rivians are relatively quick by vehicle standards, but there are plenty of fast and faster cars out there.

I can understand however that some folks are affected more due to the fact the vehicle is silent. Your brain typically expects engine/exhaust noise. When you don't hear it, it is a little odd feeling.

The acceleration can mess with your inner ear a little. Maybe you’re interpreting a little vertigo as feeling like you’ll pass out.

I have an Ariel Atom (same as in the video @Riviot posted), which does the same 0-60 in 3 seconds acceleration that a quad R1T can do. Oddly, accelerating in the R1T messes with my inner ear a little, while I don’t get the same feeling in the Atom. I think the difference is that we have learned to associate engine noise with acceleration and the Atom has the Supercharger intake screaming into your ea. with the intake noise, you are expecting the acceleration, so it feels a little more natural. Without that noise, your brain has a little difficulty processing what your body is feeling.

The g profile is a little different with gas and electric. With the Atom, you have to build up to the power and in the engine and then have bursty acceleration as you go through the gears. With an electric vehicle, the g comes on like a light switch and just tapers off as the speed builds.

No. It's a very fast vehicle, but certainly not pulling enough Gs to make you pass out, unless you have an underlying health condition such as Hypotension.

0 to 60 in 3 seconds. The g-force experienced is approximately 0.91230 g
Unlikely to require MAST (military anti shock trousers)
Astronauts can experience 3 to 6 g's
I suspect we've all floored it to see the reaction of our passengers though.
A Rivian or any other vehicle going off a cliff will reach 60 mph in 2.74 seconds.

There's a joke here or funny image but I'm too old and lazy to do it lol
Perhaps something about having to change undergarments?
