So, the RIVIAN has the hitch receiver an extra 2" deeper than any other vehicle I have ever owned ( Toyota Tundra, tacoma,, Ford Truck/SUV , Land Rover).

My 6" hitch (angled up @6") with a reinforcement fin (at 5.5" ) is of course no longer deep enough to clear the bumper.

What are you using? I'll take brand and where I can find one so i'm not driving all over creation looking for one. I've never used an extension (doesn't seem safe to me). I'll take any information on that as well.

Thanks in advance.

I don’t tow much, but I had to last year and bought this one. Worked great. If I did more towing I might have spent more, but It did the job just fine.

Love that trailer! I'm looking to downsize soon from my 20' Roo.
inTech Sol Dawn - 2023 model, but there's no real difference between that and the current ones... Minus the new fridges not running on LP and a switch to a tankless water heater, I believe.

Weight safe 180. With a compact anti rattle clamp (trimax THC200). A standard one wouldn’t fit.

I need the ball to go up instead of out and down (trailer is very tall). Have any of you tried yours in the Upper Positions? and does it clear the bumper. Most of the linked hitches have the same style reinforcement sail/fin and that hits the bumper.

If possible, would you mind sharing a photo of that clamp in-place? I'm really curious to see how good the fit is... Thanks!

I have the fastway but it doesn't fit upwards, hits the bumper, would need a short extension to make it work. I'm using an anti rattle clip but the adjustable part still rattles a little.

Mine fits fine upside down.

Nice, My curt has a fin at about 5" that keeps it from doing that. Is there still room up top for the trailer cup? or would it hit the bumper?

With mine upside down, the center point of the weld is 3.5 inches from the bumper. So there there would be about 2.5" between the rear most point of the bumper and a 2 inch ball.

Mine is a 4-in drop. It is not actually reversible since the ball is welded to the frame. I don't know off the top of my head if they make a 6-inch rise version, but if they did and it used the same angles there would be even more clearance.

I used to use this standard Curt adjustable drop hitch, which fit well:

As someone else noted, the receiver is pretty well tucked in there. I spent ~$500 on this Curt Rebellion shock absorbing hitch, so was committed to using it. I had to get the dremel cutting wheel and remove a tad of the plastic that the removable plate clips into. It’s not visible at all when the plate is installed. Clearance is tight but the tow quality makes it entirely worth it.
