After ordering running boards and rock sliders from EVBase, and only receiving the running boards, with the promise of getting rock sliders later, I got this email from them.

“ Hi.
For the R1T armors,
Unfortunately, we have received a notice from the relevant department that this product is not going to be developed further.
We will directly refund the product fee to your original payment account.
Please pay attention to the refund notification email in the next few days.
Sorry for the inconvenience.”

I am pretty disappointed in them. I guess now I have to sell the EVBase running boards and order the sliders from Weistec.

Those look really nice. Do they have a part that replaces the protective plastic bit you remove to install the sliders?

Nope, they don't. Several others and I on this forum have just removed the plastic. Some followed the video instructions to make the cut outs, but if you take it out into some dirt/mud it fills up with or without holes. You really can't tell they aren't there unless you look underneath.

If you want rock sliders, get them from outfits that based in the US and actually have off-road experience (and you can get a read on that quickly by looking at their product portfolio). Not some far flung outfit just looking to make a buck.

You are absolutely correct on that. It is a lesson learned.

Yep, those plastic trim pieces are in my garden shed.

Thank you for posting that. It gives me confidence in ordering the DCE Sliders.

That sucks about EVBase. I have the powder coated Weistec sliders. Easy 1-person install, very sturdy, no ground clearance loss, and I think they look great.

Good luck, and adventure on!

Mine are in the basement :D :D

I am running EVBase running boards. I also ripped them off while offroading and had to "blacksmith" the brackets back to straight to reinstall them when I got home. Cheap chinese pot metal. Starting to show some rust now after 6mo of use, and a single Buffalo winter (which is arguably hard on things). I wouldn't trust that company to make legit rock sliders to be honest. Steps serve the purpose and will likely be removed and tossed in the scrap bin at work when I got to turn the lease in.

I am pretty disappointed in them. I should have ordered from Weistec to begin with.
