Denied lifting at service center due to Goat Fab rock rails sliders

Has anyone else been denied having their car lifted by a service center for the SC's pucks barely touching their Goat Fab rock sliders? I've never come across someone else with this before for this specific brand. Everyone's stated there were no issues, but Fife SC denied service as their pucks (big chunky) touched the rail. Wondering if this is a one-off or more common than previously stated back when I ordered and installed (Dec 2024).

Currently waiting at a Discount Tire who could do the service same day no appointment without making me wait hours to say no.

Yeah... my neighbor has the Rivian service version of the pucks and it is huge. The techs are only given those pucks and that is what they are trained with and required to use. Unfortunately, unless a particular SC is willing to deviate, you are at their mercy with aftermarket parts.

With that said, could you notch out the GOAT slider to give enough room for the Rivian service puck? If so, I can get you the dimensions of the pucks to work with.

Unless very early version of Goat’s, I believe they modified their mount to accommodate most aftermarket pucks. In which case, why not buy a set of pucks and see if SC is open to using them? I mean it’s never a bad idea to own a set anyway.

To be clear: Rivian has the policy to not perform work on Rivians with aftermarket sliders or steps, period. The deviation is the local service center discretion to do it anyway.

Insofar as they have a $400 service offering to remove aftermarket steps/sliders prior to Rivian-approved work.

I've asked my SC every time I take it in, and every time I was told 'yes, remove them prior to service.'

This is why I haven't purchased sliders yet. I'm hoping someone will invent a set that won't interfere with service. Unfortunately, still waiting to go off road because of this issue.

To be clear: most either don't interfere, or accommodate factory lifting points, or even arguably bolster lifting. The issue isn't the sliders themselves. It's Rivian being unwilling to take on the liability. I'm not faulting them on that, and I know I share the sentiment a lot do here insofar as it'd be nice if they either 1- had an approved list or 2- offered their own.

According to Megawatt, on Discord, Rivian has even done some training of their techs with their sliders. But still no official support.

Write your local Rivian reps, I guess...

I have the GOAT fabrication sliders on my r1t. I've taken it to both the lake Forest and Costa Mesa service centers for suspension service without any issues.

They were not open to using my pucks as they will only use theirs and only use a lift. They will not use jacks to lift it up at the SC, which honestly is kind of wild as it's one of the few money incoming operations post sales they have.

Kneel mode is decent alternative to running boards for adults, but kneel mode doesn't go low enough for kids.

Also the Goat Fabrication sliders are also rock sliders, in addition to being running boards.

Rock sliders are useful for off-roading. I hit the trails once or twice a month, and my sliders have come in handy a few times.

I have Goat and never had issues at many Rivian Service Center appointments including rotations, and warranty work. also, Americas Tire never a concern. GOAT Rock Sliders

Sounds like your SC is run by an unreasonable bunch.

I have gotten my front axles replaced and alignments done with the Goat sliders on so I don’t know if affected my SC performing work. But they didn’t mention anything.
