Random question but could anyone that has experience with the R1T in person speak to the carpeting material? I've never owned a premium vehicle (Ford, Honda, Subaru only) and always wished the carpeting was better quality. Will my R1T be about the same, marginally better, or far better? Thanks in advance I doubt I will get to see one in person before it shows up in my driveway.

I saw one a couple of years ago in Austin and I thought it was a vinyl floor covering. Or at least I hope it was.

I think I'll just fly to an event that has the R1S at this point. I'm so surprised they don't have all the colors there either.
Just got done chatting with CS (yes, grains of salt and all that). He seemed to think that the R1S will start showing up at test drive events this month.

Thanks for the clarification although pricing them accordingly would be a zero add on since they were originally supposed to be included with the LE.
Adding them back on makes the price identical to what you initially configured. You will pay the same price now (for the LE with added Offroad package) as you would have then (for the LE with included Offroad package).

I was scheduled to go to this event tomorrow afternoon, but I just got an email from them that they cancelled it due to the weather today. ?

I was really looking forward to driving in the puddles and mud. I wish they would've at least offered to fit us in on a different day. Oh well...

I spoke with the Rivian person in charge of selecting all the inside fabrics and colors several years ago at the Atlanta showing. What I recall is Rivian concern for durability, ease of cleaning mud and dirt off the fabrics, and appearance before and after rough use. The dilemma of Rivian = luxury interior in an off-road vehicle.

That is really lame. I actually wondered about that. Crazy that you couldn't go and drive it on the pavement even if they didn't want people to go off-road in the mud. It's still an adventure vehicle right?

I'm going on Saturday.

I just received an email from Rivian that my First Mile Event Tour reservation for Saturday afternoon has been canceled. I did not cancel it. Has anyone else received this type of notice? Of course, CS is closed now so I can't contact them to find out why.

I just got the same email. Mine was Saturday at 3:15.

It's pretty annoying. they say they will prioritize in person test drives instead but I was looking forward to just getting. little seat time and also checking out some other colors in person.

Weather is a lame excuse. Something else is going on. It's going to be clear skies and dry for another week.

It's not that. They could easily have had people do just road course and let you experience being behind the wheel and using the screens etc. I dont' think it's some conspiracy, but I do think they are using the weather as an excuse. It's a freaking adventure vehicle. They can handle a little rain.

agree to disagree then…I drove the course and with the amount of rain we got there is no way that it would be fit for the event.
Now, could you still do the paved portion? Sure. But that was the smallest portion of the course from a time behind the wheel perspective.

I don't need to drive the off road course. I'd be happy to just drive the pavement loop and get to use the menus and play around with the screens.

Also - there were a lot of people who didn't have drive reservations. They were just going out to see the trucks see them for the first time inside and out.

Why would they cancel they opportunity for all those people to see the trucks in person just because the off road course was closed? Doesn't make any sense.
