Watched the OOS review also. Pretty, pretty nice!
Did not quite get the issue with charging derating significantly if A/C on.

Just hope dealerships don't jack up prices with bs add-ons.
Will look awesome in my garage. Got just the spot for it.

Air Ride and Magnetic Ride Control for the win.

I would never buy a Chevy/GM product but their Magnetorheological damper system is fantastic. Right up there with Porsche and Lexus different systems from a ride control standpoint. Driven all three in SUV's and Sports cars and the magnetic fluid thing really works.

at least in April/May they weren't selling they were heavily discounted especially leases were super cheap. I did see like 4 on freeway in last week, none before then so maybe the reviews are convincing people.. happy with my new Dune with its flaws

It is a huge animal!
If I owned one, I doubt I would take it off-roading, which I really do nothing of, anyway absent riding down a dirt road for a while.

Cadillac means comfortable highway cruising on steroids. And I hope that the legendary Cadillac awful reliability (know it firsthand) does not follow these.

As for my Gen 1 R1SQ, so damn happy with it. Would not trade it for anything!

Saw one in our neighborhood, and it looks sharp, although I would say the Escalade IQL for a few grands more is more practical given the 3rd row in IQ is pretty cramped.
Way too expensive, though.

Really a nice looking SUV, and i'm sure does not come with all the creaks and rattles of my Gen 1 R1S. Build quality on my Rivian has really begun to eat at me :)

Bigger frunk than the R1S, much better range. More outlets. The only thing is it sounds like it does not have a dedicated pet mode and the dash cams are not actually functional yet. I use pet mode constantly for our larger berner, so if they can figure that out, i'd happily jump ship.

Doug DeMuro basically gave it a "meh" for ride quality and quietness. But, I feel like that's a challenge for all EV's b/c the silence of the drivetrain makes us perceive the external noises more. Still... if Cadillac can't get it quiet... who can? Maybe the new Ranger Rover EV?

GM vehicles do not need a "pet mode". You can just leave the vehicle on and lock it. They have a timer function that can be disabled. Ford works the same way.

You are right regarding the climate, but the purpose of Pet Mode is for bystanders who see the animal inside, think it's trapped and in danger, and break into the car trying to save it. This is why Pet Mode exists so that there is a message on the screen for bystanders to know.

The current entire Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon/Escalade SUVs remind me of coffin with wheels. Just a very large 2 box vehicle with lots of shiny chrome (unless its blacked out) accents.

I recently rode in one to the airport and it was roomy inside albeit with bit of truck ride feel, and plush interior.

Still, lots of these body types on the road so people must like them. Its just not for me.

Most vehicles in Phoenix have the windows tinted so dark you cannot see any screens from outside.

Are there many busybodies going around breaking windows to “save” animals?

Oh yes! Haha. It was not a feature that was introduced ahead of time. It was rolled out by Tesla in response to many incidents of bystanders doing just that and Tesla owners having their vehicles damaged and the police called for that reason.

thanks, that's super helpful to hear to be honest. I have been thinking about selling off my R1S rattler for some time now. Good to know there are viable options. Probably wait a year or two for depreciation on the Escalade to set in and pick one up for 60%-70% of the original MSRP. After years of anticipation, my R1S has been a disappointment unfortunately.
