Why?

To give *LESS* power when not in Launch Control?

On Tri/G2 Quad, it unlocks extra power. G1 has full power without it.
Launch control also lowers the front end a bit more.

My album art shows up, as does the playlist but I cannot select a song from the list in the screen. Like really?
I hadn’t even noticed this.

My biggest gripe is that the Bluetooth player is restricted to whatever filter was last used on my phone. If I was listening to a specific artist on my phone, the Rivian will ONLY play music from that artist. If I was listening to a podcast, the Rivian will ONLY play that podcast. There is no way to navigate away within the vehicle.

My second gripe is that the audio breaks up at random times in the road. It usually happens when it seems the computer is taxes on other tasks.

600mi range and 2000hp aside, what is the one little thing that you wish you could change?

Mine is probably the fact that I cannot adjust the fan speed when the rear climate display is up. Sometimes it defaults to rear climate because I have to go into the interface to turn in on for the kids at the start of the ride, but later I tap the climate to turn the fan up/down and I can't do that until I tap back to the front. Why? Meanwhile, there's this entirely useless "schedule climate" button that I can't even press while driving, same with Pet mode (can only be tapped when parked). Seems like an inefficient use of screen real estate.
Let the driver decide where the time and temp should be displayed. Way to the right on the center screen is definitely not the ideal spot

Fingers crossed someone at Rivian actually reads this thread. Lots of good minor things that could actually change for the better. Fill out those surveys when they send them too!

here’s mine:

Change volume on center screen without multiple taps (aka a vol+ and vol- on the bottom bar), or even better: the option for more bottom bar customization overall.

more driver screen customization including a real trip meter/odometer that isn’t buried in drive modes, energy, or settings on the center screen

cruise control resume

change AC charging amperage from app. Remember preferred amperage by location.

Apple Music that functions like someone at Apple and Rivian actually beta tested it

a real efficiency graph while navigating that shows how I’m doing compared to the original estimate (a la Tesla)

give a real discount to Rivians at RAN chargers ($0.35-0.40/kwh) rather than charging top-dollar to Rivian owners and practically committing highway robbery of non-Rivians

Proximity lock/unlock turned off at more locations than just at home.

none of these require hardware changes and could be done for every Rivian. Most could be customizable and implemented to the preference of the driver (or kept as is).

I wish when there's a software update that introduces new features, they didn't break things. Couple of examples:

First, about two updates ago, my AC stopped cooling the cab upon startup. The air doesn't move fast nor cold to cool the cabin. Even the dog pants. I have to turn it all the way down to low to get it to cool the cabin. Then after about 10 minutes, the AC fan will speed up and it works fine. I had the SC look at this and they said the system is working normal. Before that time, I could set the temp to 71 in the summer, and never touch it.

Second, what did the last update do to Driver+. I just completed a 900 mile roadtrip last weekend from SF-LA, and back and the Driver+ suddenly stopped at least 20x. This has never happened before. Why, when driving on straight freeway with well marked lanes and no one in front of me, does this thing give the warning "driver+ disengaged and vehicle stopping take control now." As soon as I do so, I can reengage it again. My hunch is there's something going on with the software stack, as sometimes when Driver+ stopped, the driver display would still show it active (even though I was fully driving the car), music would stutter, and even the Nav Maps would stutter as well. This is a change since the last update.

1. A real V2H/V2G bidirectional charger that works with power walls. Please.

2. An option (or even third party) real winch system that integrates with the huge battery as well as a full size spare option/storage for R1S. How you can advertise an offroad adventure vehicle without a winch or full size spare option is ludicrous.

I really don't care about having it on the main screen, so if it gets added I wont complain... but why are all you people wanting your odometer on a main screen? How often are you having to check your odometer?! And for what reason?! I have had to look at either one total of 2 or 3 times in my 3 year ownership.

Nearly all other cars have it, so people are used to seeing it?

Or, some people just want to know shit. Same reason there's a tach on a lot of ICE vehicles with auto transmissions. Is that needed?

It took until page four for this!?

People, I expected more.

(Sorry, was on a "no cell phone signal" camping trip.)
I didn't say CarPlay because I took it as a given that almost everyone with an iPhone wanted it. I know I really miss it after driving a car that has it, like my ID4, or the rental Buick I just had.

lease with mileage limitations is one reason to check it reasonably often

@csharp: We use odometer to track business, charitable, and personal mileage for daily log.

A convenient location, for something used daily, is kind of important.

Best wishes!
