Extremely unlikely. There’s a lot of directly branded 3D stuff now. I take a bunch to the SC as giveaways every time I go. I gave some to the staff at the Scottsdale space. This isn’t a trademark item, and those are.

I just realized I have no idea what badges I have.

Here are my notes on Rivian yellow and filaments. I’ve made a bunch of stuff for myself, to give out, and to sell.

Comparison: https://colordesigner.io/compare-colors

Hatchbox PLA/PETG in dark yellow is the closest to Rivian. It is FFB500 while Rivian is either FFB100 or ffac00.

Overture PETG is close to Rivian yellow. FFAC00 or FFB100

Polymaker HT-PLA Yellow is e9b622, so slightly off and duller.

I purchased all the Shades of yellow dark yellow, egg yellow, mango yellow , PETG and the ABS filaments. I have found that manufacturers websites hex color codes are so off even my proof printer for cardboard and DTF printer don't match what the color manufacture website's Hex codes are saying that the filament is . What are you using to measure your colors? I use a "Color Muse" and a " NIX" If you want to ever exchange profiles . FYI if you use a dark black infill it changes the outward color a lot. Thanks G

As others of said there is a good chance that Rivian will ask you to remove any IP related files from 3D model websites, should you upload them. I know this firsthand and when I asked Rivian for permission to keep the files available (for a few reasons) it was denied. I also know some other creators that were also asked to remove Rivian related files. Of course, this isn't just limited to Rivian and of course not all Rivian files have been removed (yet).

Ditto. I had a fist-pump-leaping Gary magnet that I made from a sticker at a Rivian event, but it was either stolen or blasted off at the touchless carwash.

Looked like this:

What about something like this in the Rivian yellow? That other website's size and font don't match.

Funny enough, I did create a Gen 1 yellow version of this, and it looked good at first, but with the scale of the original R1 T Badge, the letters quad are barely visible. I would have to be tailgating a Rivian to read it. Besides that, I also needed to reposition the original R1 or T logo to fit the double-sized area for the new quad logo.

Yeah, never ask.

I don't measure it, I've had to just use what info I can find and then compare filaments to the car. On top of the infill problem there's also a challenge to find the right number of layers for any given color and specific filament. For example the Overture yellow needs 4-5 walls to look like a full solid color, but ProtoPasta which makes other brand colors needs only 2-3 because it's SUPER pigmented. But also harder to print with.

FYI: Rivian watches these forums.
You can find my original thread from some time ago, if you do your due diligence.
I outlined my experience. Similar to OP, I initially set out to do it for me, but when enough people started offering me compensation for their own, I gave in to spread the Yeti Joy. It was VERY short lived.

Not only was I expressly told not to distribute these, I was also told *VERY* specifically not to distribute the 3d print files or any other trade dress associated with Rivian trademark, and in this case, copyright material. I did ask if Rivian offered licensing for me to continue making them, and that request was straight up ignored.
I’ve seen firsthand how aggressively Rivian’s IP lawyers respond to anything that even slightly resembles an infringement on their property.
I've been getting less and less careful about what I post from the service manual and parts guide, not sure if that's considered IP and how much they'll hammer for it, but I haven't gotten any warnings... Yet.

How are you going to mount it onto the vehicle?
3M VHB Industry standard. At my company, we use this normally. Pretty strong and temperature resistant thanks g

You're 1- not posting anything you've (essentially) 'ripped off' and offered your own version of. and 2- not posting anything you're asking money for and 3- not posting anything you're expecting anyone else to be able to take and make money from. So, my IANAL take is that you're probably under the radar. Plus they probably don't have bots and web crawlers set to look for anything you're posting.

My personal conspiracy theory as to how they found me so quickly: I wasn't as careful as I thought I was. That is, I didn't use 'gear guard' or 'gary' or anything of that nature in my postings. However, I *DID* tape my Gary to my Rivian EVSE (because it's cool?) and included that photo in one of the listings. My theory is they had a webcrawler that found the Rivian Logo and flagged it, triggering my case (evidenced by the fact that when I was originally hit, not only was my shop immediately suspended, but they referenced the Rivian Logo--not even the Gear Guard Yeti, which led to me following-up with insistence that I wasn't ripping off their LOGO). Not saying they wouldn't have found out anyway and sent me a C&D eventually.

Also, to note: I'm all for free-market winning here. If OP or SwampNut wants to continue dragging their ... ego and see this through, trading, sharing, selling, whatever: I personally hope they DO NOT get caught and threatened with a bad time. I attempted to escalate communication up through the point of one of Rivian's IP attorneys himself sending me an email expressing they would be forced pursue legal action if I didn't stop what I was doing.

I also want to be clear that I do not think Rivian is the 'bad guy' here either. Insofar as I have a few patents with my name on them, I understand that there's a duty to pursue and maintain rights to your IP once you file for it. I DO wish they'd license, and maybe they do, but are just selective to larger, more reputable companies. I'm small potatoes, and I maintain that I wasn't trying to turn this into a side hustle, though I would've been gleeful had it worked out.

So, I only posted what I had mentioned as a cautionary tale. Nothing more. :)
I sincerely wish everyone the best.

Keep doing what you're doing, and I for one appreciate your services and contributions to the community, @Riviot

Please, do tell about what Rivian attorneys have to say about your entrepreneurial idea.

They say that you can't do it. Didn't you read the thread? Already discussed. That's why you don't talk to them at all.

Somewhat old thread now, not sure if anyone cares, but what happened to me when I was selling various PPF precuts. Ebay sent me a letter saying Rivian says I am violating the Vero saying the pre-cut pattern listing is implied they were from Rivian. Found out all I had to do was say For Rivian or Fits Rivian.
Just ended up removing Rivian from all listings. They were the only ones I received that message from.
