Something similar happened to me, the supposedly fixed my Driver+ issue and soon as I hit the road, the same errors popped up again. I said screw it and went home.So I went to pick up the car yesterday and they said they replaced the vehicle dynamics control module. Nothing else was wrong. They did not change the 12 V battery or anything and as I was driving away maybe within a mile I got another fault that says Service suspension soon. So I turned around and dropped it back off and they gave me a Rivian loaner.
Find something to schedule service for! (half joking) but it worked for me. I had mine in on other items and they proactively replaced the 12V. 16k miles, 1 yr old and no issues were presenting. They added it to the ticket unprompted.I agree with the others this sounds like a 12v failure. I just crossed 22k miles with my original and I am getting nervous about it failing too.
Nevermind.Me too. I have an appt in July for my 22k service and asked for my 12v to get some extra attention.
) is bad and needs to be replace along with the heater. Apparently it was a short that happen that fry the heater and the main battery and I think the also fry the 12v batteries as well. So far Rivian said that will be replace and tested next week and then they will work on my squicky suspensions and the ACC cutting off on me and needed to do a hard reboot to fix. Do u guys think my truck is bad or a lemon? Anyone else has these issues or just me? does anyone else this happen to before? Not sure what you want Rivian to do. Your truck doesn’t have any errors or issues now. If you have just lost confidence, you can do what a ton of others have done - sell the truck. To OP and anyone else who experienced similiar issue I hear you! I have followed this forum ever since I bought my 2022 R1T(VIN 10,3xx/8-2022 production date) at end of September 2022; but have never actively participated in responding on the forum.
My case “tops” yours and anyone else as follows: Mid September 2024, was my FIRST trip ever, for my truck to be driven outside of my local area(FIRST time more than 50 miles beyond my home) to attend Rivians only off-road class by 3rd party company at hollister hills SRVA.
I want to emphasize that My truck bought new sept 2022-sept 2024 has never been driven OUTSIDE of my urban town;paved roads, streets, highways ONLY until this off-road class after 2 years ownership.
Before class ended, our entire class of Rivians led by class instructors were taken out to do an easy trail run. I was the very last truck bringing up the rear.
About halfway in on trail, my truck SUDDENLY Died completely with NO Power, NO WARNING of any kind(instrument lights, messages)Both display screens complete black/blank!
The good thing was this was at a SVRA trail and at slow off-road speed and no other trucks following behind me!
I just sat there for about 5 min when power came back on with my display screens reading warning lights, icons and message that truck needs suspension services! My truck was stuck in off-road mode and I managed to turn back and return back to SVRA parking lot where there was cell reception ro make call to Rivian. After their instructions to do hard reset, truck operation returned to normal for me to return home. Rivian “could” only schedule earliest appointment months out to following year(Jan2025! if I recall correctly)
My main concern is realization that what if my truck died SUDDENLY without any WARNING along with COMPLETE power loss and no ability to even “limp” to safer spot, on a HIGHWAY, I am literally a SITTING DUCK and my life is at stake!
Thinking back I should have been upset enough to make Rivian make this a priority service appointment; especially now knowing Rivian keeps a computer log/record of every vehicle’s problems ONLY for several months!
My truck has been serviced but nothing wrong was ever discovered, with no log records and this has hung over my head from September 2024 to today!
So now I’m definitely NOT even using my truck as intended for off-road adventuring; freeway driving is limited and primarily use my truck locally on city streets in town! My daughter will not allow me to take my grandsons driving on freeways!
I feel I’m in limbo and want Rivian to resolve this but I don’t know how they can to be fair.
So I’m throwing out to the forum community, what should I do?
Despite all this, I still love my R1T enough to not want to get it off my hands!
