So here is my situation...
Someone was supposed to drop off their R1T so I can complete our product line for the R1T (full color wrap, sunroof, rear windows tints and a few plastics). They had a change of circumstances though and did not drop off. Right now I am working on finalizing our Model Y Juniper color wrap and once that's done (1-2 weeks) I plan on trying to find a way to get access to a R1T. Will likely post here in the forums to see if anyone in the Bay Area is willing to drop it off for a few weeks in exchange of getting all of our products for free (including a color wrap). If nobody shows up I will either have to rent through Turo so I can at least do the sunroof & rear window tints (can't do a full wrap on a Turo rental as it requires de-badging) or I will have to buy one. So my timeline is a bit unknown. It's high priority for me as soon as I finish the Model Y wrap, so in a few weeks from now I will be fully focused on trying to get a R1T so I can do it...

Sorry, I didn't pay attention to the context. I guess that mirrored film on the roof would not be objectionable, but might run afoul of the law, depending on the wording. I wonder what mirrored film on the roof would look like.

I think a mirrored roof effect could look pretty cool. Especially with LA Silver or even some of the lighter colored trucks.

That is a steal of a deal! I'd be very surprised if no one Roger'd Up to that.

Regarding windshield film, mine has been great so far! I was waiting until a carwash for final review, but I forgot to do that yesterday, so here it is.

It took a week of parking facing the sun and another week of regular use to settle all the way and have the haze/blurry lines disappear. There is a slight visual distortion at speed when looking from the driver seat over at the far right side of the glass, but it's been getting less over time, and it's not in my field of view so it doesn't bother me.

I will say visual distortions were evident in the field of view after first install, but they fully disappeared over time. I blame the distortion on me squeegying mostly horizontally during install and not much vertically. After rewatching the video, I saw @twraps doing both directions, and recommend that to fully stretch it out.

All in all, I do recommend this film and DIY install if you've done vinyl or PPF before. Watch the video multiple times, use a table bigger than your windshield film, and go slow!

I did too! $500 in kWh and flights, plus 2 16 hour travel days changed my mind.

I wasn't aware of that thread, I ignored him a while back (can't reminder why now) so it's not in my feed.

I actually have a mirrored sunroof that's installed on the outside. It looks great, especially since my car is LA Silver. And it's also 20% tint as well

As a side note, I honestly can't believe how awesome the Rivian community is... asking for someone's $100k vehicle for several weeks on a "trust me, it's going to be fine" is a huge ask when none of us know each other personally. I know that. And yet again, @SwampNut to the rescue!

I have been a car and motorcycle guy all my life (I'm 60). I have a vast network of people with mutual trust. The trip I'm taking while you have my truck...I'm flying to Elmira NY where a guy from Sayre PA, who I've known from my motorcycle forum for 20 years, will pick me up and hand me his motorcycle to go abuse for a week. And that's not even unusual. People come stay at my house all the time who I've only met online and we hadn't met before. This morning the wife was talking about a Reddit post about the "early internet" and what it was like. I've been perpetually online since the mid-90s. We were talking about all the people I've known for 30 years from an online get-together.

There's a chance that in ten years you and I will have a beer together and talk about the Rivian R5XST-Ultra with five motors.

What do you think about the doing the windshield on mine? I have the unique position of having tried another one, and hating that one. I can provide a direct comparison. I'm also lacking glass coverage due to cost, so it's worrisome to me that I would have to shell out $1800.

Absolutely no problem! As I said, whoever leaves their R1T for a full wrap so I can develop it, gets any product that we have for it for free

I picked up the sunroof film from Iliya and install was super easy (aside from the bug that decided to land on the roof just as I was putting the film down). Noticed the bug, peeled the film up and washed the crap out of it with a ton of soapy water, and no issues. I can't stop saying good things about Iliya and TWraps. Solid guy and very helpful if you get into a jam with install. Going to try one of his charging pads next so I can swap out my phone heater

ninja edit: The film really helps with the comfort in the summer sun. You can feel the difference, and the truck cools down a lot quicker.
