It's interesting that early 2020 and early 2021 holders have a similar delivery window. That particular period of order time didn't make much difference in the overall delivery timeline.

I think there were some lulls in information coming out between 11/18 and 9/21 where preorders likely were very sparse. I'd be very interested to see a week by week chart of preorder volume from 11/18 to 12/21 to see how closely the spikes relate to press releases.

Yeah I think the correlation would be strong. I know there were a lot of pre-orders in the last half of 2021. Curious to see where those windows fall.

“With this new delay for Explore Trim vehicles and Max Pack Vehicles, can you confirm current pricing will be maintained for all current preorders?”

As of 1 month ago, the website literally said “Deliveries starting January 2022” for Explore trim R1T. I’d be real mad if I was an early explore trim preorder holder, and DOUBLY so if they start raising the prices.

I think you know what the answer is going to be. They're going to have a hard time honoring pricing set 4 years before delivery. Even if they raised prices 20% across the board, I suspect demand will still easily outstrip supply until there are other shipping EV truck competitors. Then again, they don't need to be profitable for a long time, it's not that many vehicles, and it would damage their reputation so who knows.

As far as I can tell, Rivian has never met a single one of their self-imposed deadlines. No reason to think they'll start now. Not trying to be a hater and they're certainly not alone in that regard. I've just come to expect that when they give a date, you just add at least six months to it and you won't be disappointed. I'm a 2021 Max Pack preorder and I don't expect delivery until Q4 2023 at the earliest. By then, my Cybertruck and F150 preorders will probably be nearing production too. If I could get an R1T in 2022, they'd have my money for sure but if I'm looking at 2023 and have my choice of any EV truck, I'm not sure what I'll do. I doubt Rivian cares much. There's still going to be someone next in line to buy my slot.
