Thanks, this is very helpful -- I was wondering if my color choice of black was affecting my timing at all -- also in Colorado and with a Dec '20 pre-order date and the same delivery window.

Happy to get some confirmation my window looks right as well. I actually switched to silver from limestone a few days ago because I was concerned color might slow down delivery (since we have yet to see a limestone vehicle). Figured when finalizing my order I could change back.

A little disappointed, I was hoping for late 22 after seeing that LE R1S in the area had windows of June/July, but that's just because I am so excited to take delivery. It is still in line with my conservative estimates all along, just wish it was a 2 month window instead of a 6 month window. That 2 month window for some reason just makes it feel more real. I am guessing they are focusing on production of Adventure trim with large pack in 22 but the delivery will be the bottleneck. They will get to where they are producing 90-100 vehicles per day but only delivering 20-30 per day (In my opinion with zero data, just a hunch)

I *just* changed to El Cap after receiving the Rivian delivery estimate email. I don't want a 'green undertone' exterior color.

Seems like end of Sept/Early October '21 is where the cutoff was for early/late '23. That gives you an idea for the volume of preorders that came in from 9/1/21 on.

Overall, this was within my expectation as they had originally warned (in their S-1) that current orders (48,000 at the time) would not be getting completed until the end of 2023. Since I had preordered a few days before that estimate came out, I was ready for a second half 2023 delivery window but secretly hoping for a January 2023 delivery; thus, my first half 2023 delivery window is reasonable. As someone else mentioned above, this will give time to work out the kinks and improve the build quality. Also, we will be getting the 2023 model. Gotta look on the bright side.

A perspective.

Given so much of R1S dates are in 2023, would not surprise me if there will be many, many cancellations. There are/will be other options between now and 2023, especially if its late 2023.

My sense is that many early 2023 will slide into late 2022 and 2nd half 2023 will slide up to early 2023.

These production dates are based on current preorders. Things will change now that dates are released.
