Sure wish they could implement co-steer for gen1. Highway assist is unusable in congested Southern California highways because the car locks into the center of the lane which is way too close for the big trucks on the right lane. I prefer to hug the left side and highway assist can’t do that.

id imagine there’s only so much they can do any more
My Tesla is a 2018 and continues to receive significant upgrades and have been far more impressive than Rivians for Gen1. And they can’t even expand access for Driver+ whatsoever? It’s abysmal. LMAO with the futile audio updates. The sounds sucks and always will.

Very true. I think Rivian agreed that gen 1 was a POC model and used off the shelf products.
So it was basically like an experiment and they didn’t plan on upgrading parts in further

Not really. It’s more like 2 new cameras and a harness.
Everything else it uses the existing Rivian sensors.
I do believe those would meet the definition of 'hardware'...

Agree completely. I've commented on enough threads about this that I don't want to dive too deep into "constant complainer" territory. My simple answer is that I DON"T WANT streaming services. I have a quality music collection I own, and I'd rather listen to that.
Then there are those of us who subscribe to Qobuz. The app will never be added, so I just play over BT.

Gen1 is getting closer to extinction like the dinosaurs.
But for the price and warranty - Totally worth it!
I'll still take the Gen 1 and the cost savings at this point than a Gen 2. Honestly, though, every day I am less and less likely to buy another Rivian.

My service issues have just about bled out my love for the brand which was higher than I had for Tesla at one time. The wind noise is still a continuing issue even after the latest visit. It did help me put things in comparison. I thought my truck was about the worst for Rivian wind noise.

My Rivian loaner was able to dethrone my truck from the worst wind noise. Rivian did manage to trump that truck by damaging mine while in service.

I'd take my truck without any issues (as it should be) rather than any recent update they've rolled out. We are in for a rough ride when the R2s roll out if they haven't gotten the service aspect better sorted.

Well, there's also the Snapdragon 845 processor which helps since the Gen 1 has no custom compute of its own.

At this point I'm pretty sure my next vehicle will be a Scout Terra.

My Rivian has never felt like a $100k car. My Model Y feels exactly how a $40k commuter should feel like

From your perspective, what does a $100k car feel like? I’m not being sarcastic, just curious.
