Don't know what your mean by sturdier. Feels reliable, it's very quiet and feels solid. The slats are surprisingly stiff, I was expecting something I'd be afraid to put too much weight on or bump but they aren't fragile (I wouldn't stand on them but they feel like they could probably support my weight, maybe....)
Thanks. By sturdy, I mean strong/solid and less likely to break. Looks like that so good.

Now, I’m less reassured by the second part of your response, the short supply piece… My appointment is less than two weeks away. Fingers crossed.

Keep the faith everyone... Parts are still in very short supply but they are starting to slowly roll out (pun intended). Just picked my truck up with the updated version.

@Nuclianba Can you clarify if this was a replacement PTC or a true retrofit to a R1T that shipped without a PTC?

If retrofit:
What was the cost?
What steps did you take to set the appointment? I keep getting told they can’t set an appointment.

I can't speak for his PTC v2 but with my truck it did not have the button and was never built for the PTC and I paid to have it retrofit. It cost extra because they had to replace trim pieces that have the tonneau button added.

In terms of the appointment: I told them how my delivery specialist said I needed to choose an inventory build to get the lease deal and that I could 100% install the powered tonneau later.
I set that up with a service request in the app and they had the v1.5 tonneau installed a couple weeks later.

Now I'm waiting because I technically paid for the v2 and they installed the v1.5 and I already had issues with the v1.5 they installed so fingers crossed the sept 15 date for me holds.

My R1T is similar in that I had PTC on my order, but Rivian pulled the v1 off the market while I was awaiting production and I had to reconfigure without PTC.
At the time, what did you pay?

Ah yes so you can absolutely retrofit v1.5 or v2 to your car. I paid $2,400 parts & labor. So not too bad considering the manual cover on the gear shop is $1,800 and the powered one parts cost was $2,000. ( so $400 for the labor )

Surprise! I got the pre-service estimate and they’re only doing a calibration. When I spoke to the advisor before coming in for the visit this Monday, they told me that they’re still waiting on parts to do full replacements so if the calibration doesn’t work, I’ll have to come back again at the future time for a replacement. They are doing a service action to replace the clips on the axles, probably to prevent clicking noises which I have not reported as an issue and they’re going to address the dashboard rattle that has gotten pretty intense by replacing a number of parts under the dashboard so it’s not gonna be a total waste of time.
The service center was able to recalibrate my PTC - so no update for me at this time. They also fixed a persistent dash rattle (excellent) and did a replacement the front axle ting washers as a service action (I had not reported this as an issue).

$2400 is a fair price. I'll do it when they offer retrofit.

Do you know what they did for this? A friend has the same, we can't find the source.
Concern:- Customer states that the vehicle produces a persistent rattling noise from the center of the front dash when the vehicle is moving on any surface that is not perfectly smooth. The driver mentioned that the issue gets worse over time.

Cause:
- Replaced defrost panel and secured loose central gateway module hardware

Correction/Remedy:
- Panel, Defrost (Remove and Replace)
- Communications Modules Other Labor (0.5 Hours)
- Noise Vibration and Harshness General Diagnostic
- Test Drive, 30 Minutes

Parts:
- Panel Assy Defrost Substrate Center Speaker Part# PT01473574-A 1

Replacement of my stuck 1.5 tonneau cover with 2.0 is still scheduled for September 19th. Has anyome scheduled for the ā€˜mid-September’ timeframe been rescheduled to a later date or better yet, has your new tonneau cover been installed on the promised date? Asking to gauge status of the operation.

Same boat as you, and same date. I’ll update here is anything changes.
ā€˜22, was v1 now v1.5. Not stuck but pops like crazy when operating and service appointment looks to be a v2 replacement.

If they actually start installing V2 PTCs, I'll have to book an appointment (along with thousands of other folks in the same situation).

SoCal - Truck is currently in service now to have 1.5 updated to v2 with rollup slats right now. I was told by the service advisor I'm one of the first to get the retrofit
