The bigger fatter extension cable that is male to harness female to the right angle is the one on top of the back of the comma. The other is the skinny version. USB c to usb c.
Perfect. Sounds like you've got the right cables in the right places. Try rotating the thicker cable by 180-degrees at one of the connections and see if that changes anything.

The thick one is an extension cable…

So I learned recently that any loose wires or connections will give you that faulty message . My comma displayed the same message as yours in addition to Rivian front sensor faulty message this past weekend. Gerry and I were thinking about something is wrong with the wires. It turned out that my beartech magnetic mount coming loose and the electrical doesn't transmit fully. I ended up superglued it tight and all are back to normal

This is the picture I took this morning. It looked correct on your end

It's looking like MTB's issue might be a bad harness. We're looking into it.

edit to add: Gerry and Lukas have been amazing. The help has been unreal. Truly amazing people. Responsiveness to helping me has been over the top.

Not sure what is happening. To be honest, I was stupid (in my opinion) to try to do the EVPlay and Comma in one setting. Great idea when everything is smooth but too many variables to consider when problems arise.

Last light I removed all Comma hardware. Two disco resets and a deep sleep (I believe), same issues. Tonight I returned the truck back to stock. Made absolutely sure that the only two connections that are disconnected for each system are fully seated. Put the blank cap back on the CANbus that is used for EVPlay and even reattached it to the side of the fuse box as per stock. Made sure the fuses looked good as I put them back in where the fuse taps were used before.

Did an infotainment reset. All looks good with screens and no post EVPlay issues. Sensors still not working.

Did the disco reset, sensors still not working.

Charging it up to 70% now. When done will unplug, lock doors, turn off phone Bluetooth and try to assure it does a deep sleep tonight.

If not normal tomorrow morning will do a 12v/HV reset tomorrow night. If that does not work will have to setup service with Rivian.

Will let everyone know results.

Honestly, I have been modifying cars for 3 decades. I am pretty resistant to stuff like this now. However, I am considering selling the Comma and the EVPlay and just living with the truck as it is, hopefully with restored sensors.

I have been wantin these two upgrades ever since I became aware they existed. But the time I have spend on it over the past three days seems like a lot right now.

I will be traveling next week so will not have to think about it regardless of status. As I said to Gerrylum, I may feel like trying again when the skin regrows on the back of my left hand.

The Rivian install for the Comma is pretty complex, and it really only makes sense for people who are comfortable with a certain amount of troubleshooting. I wish it were as straightforward as it is on other makes, but that’s just the unfortunate reality. I guess I can take some solace from the fact that it's not just Rivian - the Tesla and Lightning installs are no joke either.

I get it. Believe it or not, I have gutted a car, rewired, and put in custom engine management in the past. I can deal with this kind of trouble shooting for sure. However, time is at a premium right now, will stew on it for a bit. If I have to take it to RIvian service, any opinion on how do I explain all this to them?

I want to be clear to all here. I still believe these are great products with great support. That is obvious to me right now. Just a time issue for me.

I wouldn't even try to explain it. Just tell them you're having sensor errors. One of our other users who was having this issue had a mobile tech come out and do some sort of 12v reset and cleared everything right up.

HV/12v reset last night. Truck behaving entirely normally. Will try to re-install each of these products with some time separating each again soon.

Glad to hear the HV/12v reset did the trick! Let us know how it goes.

I eventually got the Comma 3x fuse tap installed and is working mostly as expected.

I eventually got EV Play installed and working (for the last several days).
I’ll follow up with a longer post.

I have a mobile service appointment for Rivian to fix a seat belt they messed up recently while at SC.

I have PTC scheduled for new install. They’ll be adding the buttons to the bed.

Anyone with either EV Play or Comma 3x installed, what have your SC experiences been post install?

EV Play is pretty under the radar. Not as concerned. But Comma 3x cables and bracket are pretty obvious.

If you’ve removed either before a SC what extent did you go to?

Awesome! Glad to hear you got it installed successfully! As for the SC visit, as long as they're not working on anything related to the AXM, just take the Comma off thr windshield. I've done that for several SC visits and they never even brought it up.

Curious, I left the Comma attached while parked and have seen it get very hot. I’m using the Comma supplied mount.
Removing it is kind of a pain. I inevitably smudge one of the camera. Then the cables are just hanging there.
I tried using my HeatShield but the Comma is in the way if I leave it mounted.
I tried notching a cutout in the HeatShield but it isn’t great.
1. Do you typically remove your Comma when parked for other than very short times?
2. If so, do you leave the cables hanging? Assuming that’s what it looked like at you SC visits.
3. Did you get a bag or something to store it in when dismounted?
4. I’ve seen people very concerned about recalibrating Rivian MobileEye, etc, after a windshield replacement. Do you ever recalibrate and mounting and dismounting Comma?
